Featuring a harmonious blend of Japanese traditional, French and English landscape gardens, it provides a picturesque setting for leisurely strolls. The well maintained lawns and diverse flora make it an ideal spot for relaxation and nature appreciation. During the cherry blossom season, the garden becomes particularly enchanting, attracting numerous visitors. As of March 2025, the entrance fee is 500 yen for adults. Enjoy ????‍♀️??

Beautiful park! Lovely ponds and accessible pathways. Clean washrooms. Wish I had visited earlier! Go here because it is still in bloom for cherry blossom season. ¥500 per adult, pay by cash or card. Discount for seniors 65+ and children. You can also walk through the gate and tap your Suica transit pass to enter quickly. One main park entrance is open near Sendagaya station.

We arrived on a rainy morning before the gates opened, and we were so glad we did. The garden is absolutely beautiful — even in the drizzle — and during cherry blossom season, it was especially stunning. The peaceful atmosphere in the early hours made it easy to take in the scenery and enjoy the moment. There were plenty of cherry blossoms in bloom, and it felt like a quiet escape from the city. By the time we left, though, the crowds had really started to pour in — likely because of the peak bloom season. If you can, go early for a more serene experience. Totally worth it!

We were blessed to see the cherry trees while in Japan! Our hopes were derailed as it was SNOWING mid March in Kyoto when we arrived. Tokyo weather didn’t look much better on the projected forecast. Somehow by some miracle, by the time we got to Tokyo the following week, Shinjuku cherries were blossoming!! All that to say, the very next day.. it poured. Our photographer said we lucked out. As rain and winds would cause the cherries to shed/not be vibrant for a few days. Like I said, just a miracle and Shinjuku Gyoen did not disappoint!!! We had a 10 year anniversary shoot here. Our local photographer said, this was the best location for “dreamy” pics. She was absolutely right. The place was pretty busy. We arrived around 4pm and stayed til sunset. Grounds were massive. Central Park is nothing compared to how clean and beautiful this area was.

I absolutely adore this park, which boasts three distinct gardens within its confines. I had the pleasure of sipping my coffee at Starbucks, with a breathtaking view. However, there’s a small fee of 500¥ for entrance.
