We included the Perth Observatory in our tour of the Bickley Valley on a Saturday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by lovely volunteers and opted to do a day tour with our family of 5 (2 adults, 15yo, 12yo, 6yo).We were guided by Patrick, who was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. Our family had a great time viewing the telescopes and learning about the history and the role Perth has played in some monumentous scientific endeavours. We are looking forward to returning for a night sky tour soon!
First time coming here, and I was very pleasantly surprised! Harry, the very informed guide who explained a lot how the solar system works and the sun ? absolutely amazing ? info. I'd like to come back at night one day. The kids loved it, and the ladies there are so lovely and helpful ? thanks for making our day great.
Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, it was just a pity it was a wet and cloudy night. It’s well worth a visit. Will go again.
Booked a Night Sky Tour a while back which happened to be on a cloudy/rainy night and even though we were not able to see the sky, our expectations were not disappointed! The tour went ahead and the volunteers shared lots of information and were very knowledgeable. It was very entertaining and it gives you the chance to go back at 50% of the price and repeat the tour, hopefully in better weather conditions! Highly recommend it!!
Even with cloudy skies, we had an amazing time at Perth Observatory! The tour was fascinating—full of insights about Perth’s role in space exploration and the observatory’s rich history. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate, and we learned so much despite the weather not cooperating. We’ll definitely be back on a clear night for some stargazing!
