Vast ans extensive botanic garden. This is a great budget friendly attraction for travelers or locals wanting to enjoy a leisurely walk. Lots of scenic areas for people who do portrait photography. The grab drop off area as of 12/21/24 is a slight walk which may be harder for folks with mobility challenges. There are shaded areas around the park but benches are a bit scattered which may be difficult for people who need to rest frequently. Water and other beverages are available for purchase but bringing water and sun protection during the day time would be useful.
More a park than a botanical garden. It’s free. Some areas are not very well-maintained. That said, it’s still a pleasant place for a walk or a run, and we were lucky to spot a dusky leaf monkey, which was definitely a highlight. You don’t need much time here—about an hour to an hour and a half is enough to explore.
Penang Botanical Garden is a beautiful and peaceful escape from the city. The garden is well-maintained, with a variety of tropical plants and shaded walking paths that make it perfect for a morning jog or a relaxing stroll. One unique aspect is the presence of wild monkeys—they’re fun to watch but can be mischievous, so keep an eye on your belongings! There’s also a small waterfall and scenic spots for photos. Facilities like restrooms and benches could use some improvement in cleanliness and upkeep, but overall, it’s a lovely place to enjoy nature, learn about plant life, or spend time with family and friends. Highly recommended for a light nature outing in Penang.
Beautiful botanical garden, well maintained. Small areas to be discovered here and there, some with beautiful water cascades. Beautiful specimens of orchids, bromeliads etc... set aside at least half a day to meander and enjoy the plants, trees and views.
One of the most beautiful ? scenic view surroundings of Penang Hill with cool atmospheric biosphere forest area with middle of botanical garden. Must visit the garden in Penang. The best place for walking running and sports activities to do . Especially on the weekend the best natural spot for a family outing picnic . Waterfalls also available better come along with the company because lots of monkeys are roaming around. Dogs also roam around so be careful while coming alone. Waterfall CAFE at the entrance of the garden so we can have our favourite food here . Totally worth a visit
