I haven’t been in many caves- but I imagine it is hard to beat this one! Lots of steps(700) so not for the faint hearted….but the reward is incredible. Awesome to see the 866.000 year old column and the different stalactites, - mites, shawl, spaghetti strings etc. impressed by lightning and presentation and knowledge of staff! Do not miss this!

Visiting Ngilgi Cave is absolutely worth every minute. While the tickets might seem a bit pricey at first, the experience more than justifies the cost. The highlight is undoubtedly the Amphitheatre. Be sure to take the time to explore the main chamber as well; it offers some of the most impressive formations in the cave.

What a great place. We had no idea what to expect but we were truly amazed with the caves. Lots of steps, up and down. If you have any physical issues think twice. Some steep areas with low roof etc. It is well lit for a cave. Definitely worth a visit. Very happy we did. Lots of parking too.

This cave is amazing! The walk through the bushland to the cave was peaceful, and the cave itself was stunning, with incredible stalactites and formations. The self-guided tour gave me the chance to explore at my own pace and learn about the history and natural beauty of the area. Definitely a must-do when visiting Margaret River area! :)

My first cave experience with the family and what a sight to behold. This is one of the attractions that you have to do whilst you are in Yallingyup since it literally translates to the place of caves and holes. Quite cool to learn about how this is related to the Caves House and how people in the 1900s used to explore the caves as part of their wedding and honeymoon experience. Although the caves have the proper steps, flexible guardrails, and yellow markings to mark each step, this is still not for the faint hearted. But note that my 5 year old went through it just fine, so do adjust your expectations accordingly. Ironically, I had struggled more with the stature within the caves as some areas had really low headroom. Also, take the advice with regards to the bag and leave it up front at the registration area, as it would hinder your movement in the caves. As you can tell from the picture, there are no lifts whatsoever so it wouldn't be handicap or wheelchair friendly. Generally, if you are healthy, you should have no issues within the cave. But note the 2% carbon dioxide concentration within the lower parts of the cave that makes breathing a little more laborious. This is about 10 times the atmospheric amount. It's also surprisingly super quiet in there too. Not to worry about the insects as well as the guide mentioned that they tend to stay in the lower areas of the cave to avoid humans and light. On the ground trail, you get to learn about the history of the Australian landmass and how it came to be as well. You definitely should get the ticket that includes the caves. All in all, a pretty unforgettable experience and a must do when you're in the area.
