This is the first brick church built in Korea in the 1800s and is full of rich Korea history. It was beautiful and simple and yet elegance. It also has a crypt, rectory, gift shop and a beautiful statue of Mary outside the Cathedral. They have Sunday mass in English as well which I went to and it was full of people. The Cathedral sits in the heart of downtown Myeondong shopping area!

I was really impressed by the sheer size of Myeongdong Cathedral. The towering structure and beautiful neo-Gothic design created a powerful and serene atmosphere. The high ceilings and intricate stained glass windows added to the sense of grandeur. It’s a must-see for anyone interested in historic architecture and peaceful reflection.

I was able to attend the 9am english mass on a Sunday. It was very solemn and organized. There were markets set up around the cathedral which was very nice too.

My first time inside of a crypt was awesome. There are some restaurants and shops here but there are is lot of stuff around the area.

A very unusual sight - a Catholic cathedral in the center of Seoul! And not just a cathedral, but a whole complex of several buildings, a park and monuments. Red brick and Gothic style look very spectacular. Unfortunately we could not make photos inside, because there was a service, but the appearance of the cathedral is enough to understand its value for Seoul, for tourists and of course for believers.
