a great place to enjoy art. i've been to museum macan several times, and each exhibition has its own unique concept that always amazes me. the space is well-organized and perfect for art lovers. hence, i recommend buying tickets in advance. definitely worth a visit if you're into modern and contemporary art!

Almost every exhibit is guarded. Not too may exhibits to see. It is quite well organized though...Compared to movies ticket, I would say most people would prefer to see movies than visit this museum...

great and big art museum in jakarta, well maintenance and humble staff. most artist are japanese that have unique art style. food and drink are not allowed inside. DSLR camera also not allowed (they have mail room outside and it's free also safety). instagramable, cool place that fun for all ages. carpark is plenty on the basement. at gorengan bureau, kids can blast their creativity to design the gorean look a like packaging on their own. there are stamp, colored pen and marker available free for use there. admission is 90.000 rupiahs for adult, not accepted cash and the ticket is cashless, they sent to your email. recomended place to go for long weekend, arrive here in the morning for the best instagramable shoot ?

Visited Museum MACAN for the first time and had a great experience! It’s conveniently located near a TransJakarta station, and you can easily walk to the building. I highly recommend buying tickets in advance via Traveloka—super smooth process and you can skip the queue. The museum itself is beautifully curated. One of the highlights was Kei Imazu’s “The Sea is Barely Wrinkled”—it felt like being gently held by the ocean. Quiet, deep, and soft. I could’ve stared at it forever. Of course, Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Room is a must-see. The mirrored space, filled with light and reflection, creates a dreamy, almost otherworldly feeling. It’s both playful and meditative—absolutely lives up to the hype. They also had fun interactive exhibits like the Gorengan Bureau, where you can make your own identity card. Lots of great collections throughout—contemporary, bold, and thought-provoking. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into art, design, or just want to experience something visually inspiring. Will be back for future exhibitions!
