One of the most magnificent museums in the world. The exhibits of the history of money in Indonesia are breathtaking, from the times of the Kingdom of Majapahit through the colonial times to the present time. A must-visit if you are (or live) in Jakarta. The entrance fee is 5000 rupiah, about 25 Euro cents.

We were offered a free guided tour and the guide was very kind and informative! His name was Aji, he guided me and my 2 nephews exclusively for 1 hour and invented a few games that kept the tour engaging for them. In the end of the tour, he gave my nephews comic books of the museum and declined my tip. He made our trip very meaningful and enjoyable. The museum itself is beautiful and well-kept, and its collection extensive. The flow of the collections gave us a good overview of the history of money in Indonesia, even from the pre-colonial times. They arranged it very well and information was easy to grasp. Some of the exhibition was interactive and there was a temporary exhibition dedicated to the important women figures of Indonesia, too.

Full of knowledge about money in Indonesia, and there are free tickets for children under 7 years old, and student college who's bringing the student card.

Museums are always interesting. But please go there to get educated. Don't JUST take pictures like everyone else.

Interesting museum, one of the better ones but some of the exhibit information displays were repetitive and it could be curated better!
