The King Prajadhipok Museum in Bangkok offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of Thailand and the life of King Prajadhipok. Entry to the museum is free of charge and mind you the AC inside is working in full blast so make sure your dressed appropriate ? Visitors can explore various exhibits that showcase the reign of King Prajadhipok, the last absolute monarch of Thailand. From personal artifacts and photographs to multimedia presentations, the museum paints a vivid picture of the era and the challenges faced by the king during his reign. Overall, the King Prajadhipok Museum is a worthwhile visit for history enthusiasts and those curious about Thailand's political evolution. Its well-curated exhibits, knowledgeable staff, and serene ambiance create an enriching experience that sheds light on an important period in Thai history

I enjoyed this museum. There was no fee to enter, you just need to fill up a visitor log. There's also free parking at the back if you have a motorcycle or a car. The museum was well laid out and properly curated. I learned so many things about the Siamese Kingdom, King Prahadjipok and his family and how the current government (constitutional monarchy) was formed. We were the only tourists so we had the museum to ourselves then there was a group of highschool kids that caught up to us. If you are looking for something to do to fill in a few hours of your day, I recommend visiting this museum.

As a person who loves history and a self-proclaimed 'old soul', I have great interest in historial museums because it takes me back in time. I've been meaning to visit King Prajadhipok Museum for quite sometime but laziness - and distance - and someone to go together always hinders me to check it out. Glad to have found someone to go there this time. ? The impression of the museum is very homey for me - for some reason. It's like an old three-storey mansion with deep history and finally the government decided to honor it to house the wonderful journey of life of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII). Just an information, the museum was actually built for commercial purposes during King Chulalongkorn's reign and was under the Royal Treasury then Public Works Department before it was registered as a heritage site in modern times. I am very impressed how the museum walked us through King Prajadhipok's life from childhood until his death at a very young age of 48. As I was browsing the details provided through the walk-through, I felt so overwhelmed with emotions - happiness, sadness, suspense, intrigue. My brain is imaginative that's why I feel like I was watching a movie of King Prajadhipok's life - from childhood to adulthood, and how the fifth (?) child instead became king. Though his life was full of challenges since young - he was a sickly boy according to the provided historical information - I assumed he had a fulfilling and happy life with his wife - Queen Rambai Barni. As I was looking at their pictures - despite the troublesome days and many intrigues during his reign, it is evident that both of them tried to live a life of happiness. And I am glad to witness their life still at this time. The museum is free as of October 2024. It is at a prime location and also near some interesting temples too. I highly recommend to those who'd like to have a glimpse and would like to learn a bit about Thailand's history to drop by. The museum is well-maintained and hopefully will be continued to do so. I cannot express how much I appreciated my visit to King Prajadhipok Museum that I started reading more about Thailand's history and royalties until late night when I returned home.

What a nice museum with lots of information. I learnt so much from here. No fees required. Leave bags in the locker and register on the booklet. Then proceed upstairs to start the visit. So no need any purchase of tickets. You can also leave survey feedback for them at end of the visit. Should take at least 1.5hrs to 2 over hours for a good visit. There's also additional visits of the Queen's museum. Very nice structure building and with good info. It's like just opposite the Panfa pier. Best way by canal boat! Cross the road after alighting at panfa pier.

7 days already I was walking from one king's statue to the next, starting from home to Rama I, etc ... But for Rama VII I didn't find a statue in Bangkok, and I still wonder why. However, the King Prajadhipok Museum was worth many times more than a statue. All these photos, explanation in Thai and in English, I did like it so much. Though I have one remark: the explanation was often very low and dark, difficult to read, especially for older people. But the staff was extremely friendly, and I even was allowed to enter with my short (just above the knee).
