1 Pl. des Cinq Martyrs du Lycée Buffon, 75015 Paris, France
Hidden garden on top of the Montparnasse train station! Very calm, but we can still hear the noises from the trains.
I discovered this garden by mistake while entering the Gare Montparnasse. Its a sort of concrete garden with greenery between buildings and on the roof of the train station . The kids section is fine with a big sandy area . It needs more maintenance it looked outdated though . Not easy to stroll with a pousette . Thete is some ping pong tables and basket ball courts .
Hard to find so I added some photos and directions. From the area where you wait to get on the trains, look for the lost and found, assistance and police signs and follow them. If you are looking at the trains it’s to the right. Just past the list and found there’s a large door with a sign above “Jardin Atlantique.” Go up the large stairs and through the glass doors, keep going to the stairs, there’s a round building, go to the right, that brings you into the end of the garden area so just keep walking. There’s green areas and tennis courts lining the edge on a slightly lower area and flowers and sculptures. Also the large slanted wooden area where you can lie down reminds me of a beach. It has some areas covered with vines for shade. If the weather is nice it’s a great place to hang out while waiting for the train!
