A must-visit! A fresh fish and seafood market with an enormous selection — a feast for the eyes and the palate. You can buy and take home, but it's highly recommended to explore the lower level, choose any fish or seafood you can imagine and have it prepared however you like (raw, fried, grilled, etc.). Then head upstairs, pick a table, and within ten minutes you'll be served all the dishes you dreamed of, accompanied by plenty of pickled vegetables. As authentic as it gets, as fresh as can be, and all at incredibly low prices. Highly recommended!
Very large seafood market. A lot fresh seafood to choose and much cheaper than Noryangin in Seoul. You can choose and let them cook and eat upstairs with nice harbour view. Highly recommended shop no.183. The owner can speak English and they gave us very good deal, also the product are good too.
This was a really neat experience. I have never seen a live seafood market anywhere near this big. There are so many vendors. You can buy your fresh seafood and can take it upstairs where there are numerous restaurants where they will prepare your seafood. You can't get any fresher than this. I was amazed at the huge variety of fish, eels, shellfish etc and they are all live. They circulate fresh sea water through all tanks and aquariums where they hold the fish till you buy it. There are some fish stands outside the market itself where you can also buy already cleaned and iced down seafood.
I highly recommend stall 125 in the indoor market as the auntie was the sweetest and most accommodating. She was not pushy and did not drive up prices for us, we were able to communicate well even with limited english. We wanted to yellowtail but she told us it was not in season which we appreciated the honesty. She also gave us a fee free pieces of shellfish as service which was all so good as well. King crab, snow crab, crab fried rice, and raw live octopus were the highlights. They have a partner restaurant for cooking and eating at the second floor which charges per head and per piece of crab.
It was a wonderful experience… You choose and pay for anything you want—live and fresh—at the fish market, and the restaurants upstairs cook it for you and serve your meal… Everything is perfectly organized and the system works flawlessly… All that’s left for you to do is enjoy yourself and savor the taste of the food.
