6 Riccarton Avenue, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand
Small rose garden near the hospital, accessible via Riccarton Ave. Part of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens but note this is not the main one (the Central Rose Garden near the greenhouse, accessible via Rolleston Ave). Very peaceful with a few benches to savour the environment. In full bloom in October. Close to the Murray Aynsley Lawn, Daffodil Woodland area, Woodland Garden and Bandsmen's Memorial Rotunda.
Much quieter than the main rose garden, with some very nice roses, set in a less formal garden
Gorgeous - actually much more beautiful than the traditional/main rose garden nearby, if you ask me. This one has a bit of a wilder feel to it, with herbs and other plants growing around the bases of the roses. There are several benches tucked into the garden, which would be ideal for a nice picnic. Just be aware that this garden is immediately beside the hospital, so it can sometimes be extremely loud with the medical helicopters.
A great garden!the best visit time in November.
Beautiful spot, recently shot a wedding party in this location and it was stunning
