Xincheng, Xi'An, China, 710003
The Xi’an City Wall is one of the more well-known city walls and is well worth the visit. The top of the wall contains lots of plaques containing cool info about the different weapons that soldiers used to defend the wall. You can rent bikes to ride on the wall which I highly recommend. There’s also a small museum with the history behind the wall stretching back to the origins of Xi’an itself.
It a magnificent city wall, I think best to visit during evening time where the place it lit up with light. Feel it is more romantic at night, compared the day time. If want to cover the whole city wall best to rent a bike. We only manage to cover quarter of it and we are all drop dead tired.
Worth going, i spend about 2 hour at the city wall. To walk the whole area should be around 3-4 hours. There are shops and toilets at the city wall too. You can also rent bicycles.
Lovely way to see Xi’an city from the top of the wall! We got up to the wall from Jian-Guo Gate (建國門, walk past East Gate (長樂門), and got off from Zhong-Shan gate (中山門). Nice easy walk on top of the wall and you can see both inside and outside of the Xi’an city. There were bike for hire to ride on top of the wall too. When you get off the Little East Gate (小東門), stopped over Yong Xin Fong (永興坊), lots of stalls selling local snacks. Not a bad day to spend the morning when you are in Xian.
So fun to walk around or riding a bike. You can look around the city.
