A Pocket of History and Nature While Auckland boasts expansive parks with grand trees, Emily Place, a charming little reserve near the Pullman hotel, offers a unique experience. Towering pohutukawa trees intertwine overhead, their branches occasionally brushing the path, creating a sense of wonder. Steel supports holding up some branches add an unexpected touch of industrial charm. Hidden at the heart of the reserve, where paths converge, lies a monument marking the site of the original St. Paul's Church. The plaque on its pedestal holds a double delight: a historical artifact – a misspelling from the original engraving – and a fascinating way it was rectified!

A prime example of nature being left to itself without human involvement. The gorgeous old trees have been left to grow in whichever direction they choose often blocking the path. A peaceful area to sit and appreciate your surroundings

Had an excellent time sitting back and reading in this park. Fun to look at with the trees growing across the sidewalk. Was approached a a couple homeless people, but they were friendly enough and not too pushy. Didn't bother me much from my reading

It's a park with overgrown trees you can explore if you're in decent enough shape. Just be warned of the smell, some inconsiderate individual has decided it would be more suitable as a "dumping" ground.

Went to see the incredibly beautiful tree that has taken over part of the walking path. At one point I had to bow pretty low underneath one of the branches but it was so worth it to get a better look at this gigantic beauty. The small park itself was lovely and serene.
