Seaworld Dr, Main Beach QLD 4217, Australia
Lovely little place, plenty of park benches to sit on and enjoy the view by yourself or with friends and family. It has a park and a small sandy beach to enjoy. The view consists of lovely water, anchored boats, and wave break Island. Great place for a day out. Just be cautious when swimming there as I have spotted stingrays while kayaking the waters.
What a beautiful place with a glorious view of the open ocean! Stunning weather with blue skies and a stroll down the pier with my dog was so therapeutic and serene. Alot of fishing going on along the pier and managed to see a couple of dolphins swim along the channel.
This spot is a favourite. The peaceful atmosphere is unique having the city and water views in the distance. Theres always activity on the water, plenty of seats , amenities. Closes with a locked gate beware! and with fish and chips on the way, what more could you want?
Doug Jennings Park is located at the end of Seaworld Dr,Main Beach Qld 4217. A jewel in the crown Doug Jennings Park is located on the Gold Coast seaway & within easy walking distance to the beach & the Sand Bypass pumping jetty. Located at The Spit, this 30-hectare park offers ample space, flat grounds, plenty of shade & accessible hardstand parking for large & small vehicles. This is the perfect location for any major city event, such as festivals or markets. Wheelchair access parking is available within easy walking distance to all public amenities. Situated a short walk from The Spit, this is a wonderful place for large family gatherings. It is a great place to walk along the seawall area, which looks across to South Stradbroke Island. This is also an area where jet ski can be used on the Broadwater. The Seaway Kiosk, also located at the end of Seaworld Dr, is a large one level kiosk, perfect for morning brunch & particularly busy around lunchtime. Why not try fresh oysters for lunch ? Toilets and showers are available within a short walk from the Seaway Kiosk. Doug Jennings Park is located a short distance up the road from the Seaworld Resort, & at times this part of the Gold Coast can become very popular, marking the only one road in & out to the Gold Coast Highway a painful experience for anybody wanting to enter or leave. Be prepared when making your journey back home for delays in the traffic. All in all, it is a fantastic place to have a good day out for a picnic or BBQ.
This spot is magical & I love watching sunsets across the water & behind the mountains. There are heaps of dolphins frolicking around & they have been there for the past few years. If you like walking, you can walk along the beach OR along the pathway. It’s a lovely walk out to the lighthouse.
