The old city is a must-visit attraction in Shanghai. There is so much to see: gardens, markets, temples, food stalls, and plenty more. This is a great place to spend a day in Shanghai.
Not hard to walk. Only one set of steps. Can hire bikes to ride the wall, stop and buy an ice cream which is fun. A few souvenir shops and about 6 places to b able to get the ground level.
The Dàjìng Gé Pavillon is а museum and ancient temple of Shanghai, incorporating the last remaining portions of the walls of the Old City of Shanghai. Most of the walls were dismantled in 1912, and today only this portion remains. The main pavilion was closed when I reached there, seems some renovation was going on...
