159-161, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Kala Ghoda, Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400001, India
The museum was decent, tickets were 150 for indians and 700 for foreigners they don’t check id cards there so if you look indian also it should be fine. Avoid the audio tour unless you’re really into history. Its better to just read about the items on display. It is quiet a vast collection of Indian and south asian history. You would spend about 2-3 hours here even if you try to do it quickly. The building is beautiful and it’s worth a visit.
Step into the past, uncover the treasures of India! Spent this Sunday exploring the incredible Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) in Mumbai. This iconic museum is a treasure trove of India's rich heritage, showcasing the birth and growth of our vibrant city, Mumbai. From ancient artifacts to cultural relics, every exhibit tells a story of our fascinating history. Walking through the galleries, I was struck by the diversity and depth of our cultural heritage. The museum's collection is a testament to India's glorious past, and it's awe-inspiring to see these pieces of history preserved and displayed for us to learn from. A must-visit for anyone interested in history, culture, and the story of our nation! We paid 150/- per head for the ticket
I'm glad I visited this museum. Living in Bombay for years and I didn't make a visit here was shameful on my part but thanks to the Kala Ghoda art festival that brought me here! I was completely transferred to a different era! What a collection of artifacts! What architecture! Stunning. The area is vast and well kept. You can also punch your own coin here as a souvenir! Well done Bombay...you've kept the history alive with a touch of modernity.
There is Entry fee of rs200 per person. It's museum where you can see old age stone, painting, weapon, armour etc. Also there is kids section for kid. May preserved animal and birds. Etc Your entry fee worth every penny. To see everything it will take you minimum 3-4hr if you are interested in seeing everything. So come prepared for that.
If you want to learn about the history of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism then this is a good place to go. The museum also has lot of art work displayed as well as artefacts from other regions of world. It is quite nicely maintained. Since the place only has fans, it could get hot especially during the summer season.
