I had downloaded the app months before our trip, so I was familiar with the ticketing process. When we arrived at our hotel room on A Wednesday at noon, I checked availability for the next 48 hours-sold out for Thursday and Friday, but tickets available that same afternoon at 4. We did it and am happy we did. Our last visit was 2019 literally 2 weeks before the fire. The refurbished Cathedral is a thoughtful blend of old coupled with some spaces to be planned with time. It is less cluttered; I mourn what was lost, but I love that planners aren’t rushing to fill spaces. The interior stone glows a silky white creating an ethereal effect combined with light from the renowned windows. The gift shop is centered at the back; it is understaffed, and sells the items valued by Catholics-rosaries, cards, a few ornaments etc. I purchased a rosary for my granddaughter and a wooden cross necklace on a leather rope for my grandson. Priests were hearing confessions that afternoon; I knelt in prayer to say Hello. A powerful experience.

Absolutely worth visiting when in Paris! Entry is free, but booking a ticket online in advance makes access quicker. The restoration is stunning, and the cathedral looks magnificent inside and out. I recommend visiting on a weekday morning to avoid the crowds and fully enjoy the experience.

Visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral was both moving and memorable. Even with restoration work still visible on the exterior—scaffolding lining parts of the facade and towers—the cathedral’s grandeur remains absolutely awe-inspiring. You can still fully appreciate its Gothic architecture, intricate stone carvings, and the iconic twin bell towers that have stood watch over Paris for centuries. While parts of the plaza and surrounding area may be slightly obstructed due to the continuing reconstruction from the 2019 fire, the atmosphere is still reverent and majestic. The sense of history here is palpable, and seeing the careful, ongoing efforts to restore this masterpiece adds a powerful layer to the experience.

There’s something really emotional about stepping into this sacred space. I wish I’d had the chance to attend an English mass, but even just being there was powerful. The level of creativity and detail throughout the cathedral was mind-blowing — every corner felt intentional, full of meaning and craftsmanship. Absolutely amazing. It’s an iconic, historic place of worship — may everyone who visits feel the energy and have their prayers answered. Thank you for allowing me to trespass this sacred space.

Visited the church in June 2025 since it rebuilt after the fire. It is magnificent, huge and beautiful. There are two lines outside the Cathedral. One line is for those who have tickets which are free and available on their website. New timed tickets were released at midnight every day and went out very fast. Get the free tickets if possible as the line is much shorter. We were able to get in in less than 10 minutes. Another line is much more longer and people are waiting to get in with no shade. This is a must to visit if you are in Paris.
