Good place for the history lovers.. If you are going to Ellis Island and Statue Of Liberty then you would stop by this monument. It has come great pictures depicting the history of the place. Though the monument is small and only one room is accessible but you still will like it once you enter the monument.

Castle Clinton National Monument is a historic gem located in Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan. Originally built as a fort to defend New York Harbor, it has served many purposes over the years, including an immigration station and entertainment venue. Today, it’s an important visitor center and the official departure point for ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. If you’re planning to visit Lady Liberty, this is where you’ll need to purchase or pick up your tickets. The site itself is well-maintained and offers informative displays about its fascinating history. Definitely worth a stop before your journey to the iconic statue.

Nice spot very well hidden , if ur not looking forward it u might missed it especially with all the construction happening close by. the rangers are great always help and welcoming and to give you a free tour of the castle. The disadvantage is that at castle Clinton the private ticket counter staff are not as friendly and not very helpful especially when it comes to group sales. However they are very inexpensive and the best place to get tickets to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Be aware of SCAMMERS!! Buy tickets from ticket booth for statue of liberty. not these scammers! They will push you to buy from them and even stop you from going to ACTUAL ticket booths. There are teams of people in these clown costumes to force you to buy from them. Block your way and act like “security”. These scammers dilute tourism for NYC. I have lived in NYC for decades and never seen such atrocities. It feels sad to see such scammers dilute American experience.

Cool piece of history in Battery Park. It gets busy mainly because of people picking up Statue tickets but it’s still easy to look around.
