178 Hackthorne Road, Cashmere, Christchurch 8022, New Zealand
Good place for scenic views over Christchurch. There's a beautiful building which houses a cafe at the end of the walk. Toilet facilities are available. Plenty of street parking is also available. Google will most likely say "you have arrived" right in the middle of nowhere. You will see steps that you can take to reach the viewpoint (5 minutes), alternatively, you can keep driving a bit further until you see the entrance to the track.
Stunning lookout that gives you a new impression every time you visit. Hiking trail nearby is impressive. The sunsets here are the best. The quick climb from the street to the end of the lookout area gives you a simple workout. The lookout has a wide space with lots of scenery that grabs your attention. There is an old scenic church nearby as well.

Walked up from Sydenham, good steady climb up Dyers pass and round to steps to top... 4 Km each way. Excellent views from the lookout with an observation guide for landmarks !
So if you have come up to the lookout and found a person playing music and giving out the vibes on a hammock chair that's me! I want to thank everyone who shared in all the moments, from photos (including the people who got engaged ?), to receiving my little gifts, to the conversations and of course the music and the vibes. I was able to come up to the lookout almost ~400-500 times since I moved to Christchurch and share in so many sunsets with you all. However it's the end of an era now as I'm leaving! All the best keep the vibes up for me!
