An incredible experience. Not for a novice hiker. The cave floor can be slippery and the ladders are a bit dodgy. But if you are fit and stable on your feet it's an unmissable experience. You can get all the way through and repel down onto Thai Wand wall, but you need climbing gear and experience, or take a guide.

At the back of the beach there is a path up with a rope and then to the left around the rock, you will reach the main cave. In the main cave keep to the left and you have to find ropes going up, then there are 3 ladders in the dark to the viewpoint, you need to have a light, it is completely dark there. I recommend sturdy shoes. The view is very beautiful. If you go at high tide, you can only get to the back of the beach by wading through the water to the right, the water is about a little below your buttocks.

Visiting the Bat Cave in Railey, Krabi was an incredible experience! The journey itself is unique, as you can only reach Railay by the traditional Thai longtail boats, which adds to the adventure. The area is peaceful and stunning, with one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. The cave itself is a must-visit, and the beach next to it is perfect, especially at sunset. I highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Krabi. Five out of five!

The ascent up to the topmost section of the cave was fairly manageable for amateur cavers like myself. Certainly, it was not exactly a walk in the park; there were some hurdles, steep steps, and slippery, mud-caked surfaces here and there, but I climbed my way through them just fine (though the experience was not as pleasant for my girlfriend who is not used to such a demanding physical activity). The magnificent view up top was truly rewarding. You will be instantly greeted with a vast vista of azure sky, viridescent leaves, and dazzling brilliance of the emerald sea. Position yourself at the center of the opening(s) and you will get a fantastic silhouette shot. Overall, a damn fine experience.
