Huge statue in Kuta, perfect spot for sunset pictures. They have just finished building it, but it looks like one will be able to climb some steps on the statue itself.

A beautiful statue of the god of the sea in Hinduism. The statue stands tall at the Kuta Beach. Baruna (Varuna) holds it's pronged weapon (not really a trident but has two prongs on the wespon). Baruna stands on a tortoise. On the sides are dragons (water snakes) and the overall beach statues display the same theme.

Incredible statue. Worth a visit While not as elaborate as many of the statues and monuments that have been constructed throughout Bali, the Lord Baruna is worshipped by the Balinese as the God of the Sea and as such is important in Balinese religious lore. See the statue as you head to the airport and if traffic allows you may even get lucky with the camera.

A definite must see stop. The beach and water both have an assortment of traditional local boats. Water at the beach is not very clear, but there are a few interesting shells and a lot of pieces of coral on the beach.

I loved this statue and the spiritual significance of our relationship to the sea, to earth and compassion and love. So what's up my dear friends in Bali? How can you continue to litter with this magnificent representation of beauty right there in front of your eyes? In the BIGGEST way possible???? Come on!!!!!!!!!!
