It's quite complicated to find out which company we were kayaking with. We were a group of people and our tour company organised the kayaking with a local company. Also I do not know if we took a shorter or longer kayaking route. We got into the cars in Ao Nang at 8:30, we arrived before 9:15... The place looked like a restaurant... There's an open locker with shelves to put your stuff in, so make sure you don't take anything valuable you want to leave here. There is a toilet, but it was the most disgusting toilet I have ever seen in the world. I didn't even dare take my camera out to take a picture. I don't get it... everything looks pretty idyllic here, it's a restaurant and this is what the toilets look like? I've seen latrines in much better condition. By the time we got our life vests, organised ourselves and got into the boats it was 9:39... We returned to shore at 11:22. We were given refreshments in the form of fruit... We arrived at Ao Nang at 12:28. Our life vests had Every Day Travel & Tour written on them. Two people went in each kayak, we were given paddles, a dry bag and a bottle of water... Our kayaks were coloured (pink/white/green, orange/white/green, green/white), I saw groups with different life jackets and different coloured boats. Boats and equipment were in good condition. Those who didn't want to paddle could pay 300 baht and be assigned a paddler... Luckily nothing terrible happened to us, e.g. the lake and canals had no water, we were not stranded somewhere on dry land. I saw kayaks with backrests, but the ones our group was in had no backrests. It was my first time kayaking, it's not easy to stay in that position for an hour and a half. The experience itself was great, in some parts it was divine silence, almost like being in a cave. Some parts of the canals were surrounded by high stone walls overgrown with jungle. I absolutely loved the scenery. In some places the water was a beautiful turquoise, in others it was as brown as a stream. I was lucky that my boat stayed at the front of the group all the time, so I was able to take video without other people. We went into the mangrove forest and paddled in natural channels. The sight of the strange mangroves was worth it. Some of our group saw what looked like a small crocodile (or large water lizard?)... the kayaking was at a very easy pace. My paddler was talking to paddlers in other kayaks, he only spoke to me 2 times, showing me that there was a rock in the shape of Thailand on the rock (which it really looked like) and also showing me that I could see a bit of Phuket. . My husband had a rowing coach who did a real tour for him, telling him about everything they saw and pointing out interesting sights. My husband was overjoyed. It was only when we got back that I realised how dramatically the water level had dropped... the difference on the bank was about 10 metres in those 100 minutes. The staff were very helpful and helped us get in and out of the kayaks. There was only one exception.. There were three of us in our group who preferred to take pictures or enjoy the ride, so we hired paddlers... As I was supposed to sit in the front, I didn't notice that there was a young lady sitting between me and the paddler in our kayak... Our guide, who also wanted to hire a paddler, was told to paddle because they didn't have one... It wasn't until she pointed to the girl in my kayak that I realised there were three of us... The girl then went to our guide in the boat. After a while we came to a bay where we all got out and enjoyed the nature for a few minutes, we saw a monkey, the water was clear, you could see mini fish in it... When we went to sit in the kayaks, the paddlers showed us that I should sit in the boat with the lady guide (the same one who hired a paddler) and paddle by ourselves. We looked at them, why? We were paying for each paddler... so they gave up and we went back with the original line-up.

We went on a sunset tour that started around 4:30PM and finished around 6:30PM. It wasn’t too hot around this time and the view was amazing so I would recommend visiting for the sunset. Our guide was amazing. He helped row 2 kayaks at the same time but he never complained or showed he was tired. He constantly checked in to see if everyone was doing okay. Would visit again if I have the chance!

We had an amazing morning kayaking though the mangroves with our guide Farus. He found starfish, a hermit crab, lots of different coloured mud crabs, a monitor lizard and lots of monkeys. You can see how much he loves his job, how he respects the forest and the animals while trying to get you as close as possible. 10/10 recommend ?

Fantastic kayaking tour with our guide Fahrus. 1000 baht to be picked up from our resort in Ao Nang at 8:45 am, kayak for 2 hours, then get dropped off around 12:30 pm. Just send a message via Whatsapp to book. This company keeps the tour groups small (6 people) which is so nice because it's peaceful and you take your time to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. There were several other kayaking tour groups out that were very large and seemed like they were rushing through the tour. This would be a good tour even if you are new to kayaking. Fahrus was so kind and a great person to talk to and learn about Thailand, the culture, and the nature. He pointed out many creatures along the way that we otherwise would never have noticed! He planned our route carefully to take advantage of the tide and make sure we got the most out of the experience.

We went for a kayaking tour yesterday and it was simply amazing. The guide took us through the rainforest and other beautiful scenic places such as Monkey Island. The tour took around 2 hours. Would definitely recommend.
