We absolutely loved that the elephants had the freedom to move about without being chained, ridden, or forced. In fact, humans were asked to step out of their space when necessary. We had the opportunity to help prepare food for, feed, and bathe the elephants. The hosts were knowledgeable and kind, ensuring that everyone felt safe and had a chance to interact with an elephant. My 2-year-old daughter joined me, and although it was sometimes challenging to keep her focused, the hosts were incredibly supportive, engaging her beautifully and treating her with kindness for her birthday. I would highly recommend supporting this sanctuary for a safe, friendly, ethical family outing.

Absolutely loved everything about our visit to the AO Nang Elephant Sanctuary. It was a very informative and enriching experience to learn from the people who clearly care for the retired domestic elephants in their sanctuary, but without feeling lectured; and we loved the little jokes and anecdotes used to explain what we needed to know, and to bust the myths pedalled by those who really don’t know !! To be able to feed these fabulous mammals, give them a mud scrub and then enjoy cleaning the mud from their skin was an absolute privilege. The staff are to be applauded for making the whole morning such an enjoyable exoerience, they are doing an excellent job ?

I had the most beautiful experience at Ao Mamg Elephant Sanctuary. It was incredibly informative, thanks to our amazing guide, John (the Coconut Man). The experience was rich and unforgettable—walking alongside the majestic giants, feeding them, preparing their food, and even bathing them. It was a perfect day filled with love and respect for these incredible animals.

Wonderful half day learning about these beautiful animals, all of whom have been born in captivity and brought to this sanctuary in their retirement. The animals are very well looked after. There is an opportunity to prepare food to give to the elephants before helping to mud bath them to keep their skin healthy. Highly recommended trip.

A day well spent! This was by far one of the best highlights from my trip to Thailand. I highly recommend the experience to anyone visiting Krabi. The sanctuary is one of the few ethical ones that really take care of the elephants. You can see the care and love shown to the elephants. The entire tour was well organized. Will definitely be back!
