A great weekend escape to the city was made easy and comfortable with a stay at The Savoy. Check-in smooth and our room was luckily available on our arrival, an hour early. They had on the phone the night before offered to hold our bags until our room was ready. The room was clean, neat and had everything needed to make an overnight stay perfect. We will be back. One of the oldest hotels in Melbourne, you could feel the history.

The central location is great, the rooms are comfortable, the bathroom spotless and the staff very helpful. However the included breakfast was the worst we've ever experienced with very few options. Also we couldn't get shampoo from the container as they are locked too tightly.

My friend and I stayed at Savoy Hotel back in April and the service is absolutely immaculate. If you stay please visit the lovely man Gerard in the hotels bar. He will not only give you the most interesting rundown of the history behind the drinks and the hotel itself, he’ll will make you the best cocktail you’ve had in your entire life. My friend and I are looking forward to our next stay at Savoy and our next drink from Gerard :))

This is our second stay at this hotel. Location, service and friendliness of staff is all 5 star. However I have one negative comment to make, on check-in we were asked if we wanted our room serviced daily (ie, rubbish removed, bed made etc). Um.....yes, isn't that the purpose of a holiday/weekend away so that one doesn't have to make their own bed or take out the rubbish etc?
