Amazing experience. The hosts are extremely kind and make amazing food, especially their rice and curry! The room is peaceful and very comfortable. Although there’s no path, you can climb up the mountain behind the resort and it’s one of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done. Probably my favourite place in Sri Lanka.

The Forest Edge Resort is a true hidden gem! Nestled in beautiful natural surroundings, it offers a perfect escape from daily life. The staff is friendly and attentive, the accommodations are cozy and comfortable, and the food is delicious. Whether you're looking to relax or explore outdoor activities, this resort has something for everyone. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

This is a fantastic place to stay, I would just warn that it is quite a long way away from Dambulla (or indeed anything). There is a 1km walk to the main road as the track to the accommodation is not navigable by car or tuktuk, at least not all the way. However, if that is what you’re after this place is fantastic. You get a full hit to yourself complete with a large bathroom, terrace and more. The huts are really cute and set dramatically in the Forest (more the centre than the edge), with incredible views over the mountains nearby. Thushan, the host, is simply excellent - he even guided us up the nearby mountain which offers incredible views over the surrounding landscape. The food (made by his mother) is excellent as well - rice and curry of course, as well as bananas and more all from their own garden. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to be a little off the grid, but there are still all the comforts of electricity, an excellent shower and so forth. The natural ventilation of the huts makes A/C unnecessary, so sleeping here was very pleasant as well. If we are ever back in Sri Lanka, we’ll be sure to return!

Quiet isolated place literally at the edge of a forest reservation. Light pollution is minimal, and open-air area makes a great place to star gaze. I'd call this a well centered place to stay the night while you visit everything around. Price to value ratio is crazy. Owner is friendly and supportive. He knows his way around so make sure to get suggestions for places to visit and things to do. In fact, we were ended up extending our trip. You'll get top tier Sri Lankan food experience here. Ask for their food recommendations as well. Place ain't got no staff so go easy on them. Road is kinda gravel so handling some vehicles can be messy. Call the owner and ask before you go all mad max.
