I had issues trying to book a grab nearby and the receptionist was super friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to check in on me, allowed me to wait at the hotel reception (away from the sweltering heat) and helped me book a Grab when it didn't work on my app. Super nice lady, very friendly and helpful even though I wasn't a guest. It's a small hotel located at the entrance of Jonker Street, near the Tamil Methodist Church. It's quite convenient to all the cafes nearby.

We stayed 4D3N - Sun to Wed - so since our stay was across weekdays and also because we booked about a month in advance via an online booking portal, our room was less than RM100 a night. As a result, we were astounded by the quality of the housekeeping, almost to five-star level. Our bed was well-made, our personal effects left strewn all over the table and shelves were neatly arranges for us, the curtains drawn to let in natural light. There were even new bottles of drinking water and toiletries. It was super pleasant to return to a clean room after a day of roaming about in Malacca. We couldn't resist tipping the housekeeping crew! Oh yes, our queen size bed came with FOUR firm, downy pillows. Not the flat, squishy foam type. We loved the ample free parking...again, we stayed on weekdays and so those going during peak weekends may not find the parking sufficient. I read some reviews grumbling about the parking, but this is in the heart of the heritage enclave so it is all about managing your expectations and sense of entitlement. The lobby is full of antiques, a great place for you to find delightful photography ops. The backlane takes us straight to Jonker Street, which is pure delight. The age of the hotel shows a little in the bathroom; wear n tear is evident with the shower head and toilet flush of our bathroom in room 209, but we aren't complaining. For the price, this hotel is head and shoulders above the rest.
