One of the best deals in SH if you use Amex. They offer a free night if you book 3+. All the Amex Fine hotel benefits are nice. But the best deal is to get a club level room. The club floor is very nice - breakfast can be had there or at the big restaurant, and then happy hour in the evening with a very solid spread and full bar. I noticed most of the people in the lounge didn’t drink alcohol, so if you do, it’s all yours. Also, you get 3 pcs of clothes washed per DAY. Overall the service at the hotel was very nice, didn’t have any English issues. Gym is fairly small but has an indoor pool. The hotel is actually quite small, the building is big but the hotel only occupies about 11 floors, so it never feels busy.

A lovely, classy, and elegant hotel in a decent location near shops, and walkable to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. I booked 2 rooms thru Amex FHR for a 3 night stay, and both were upgraded to suites, which is better than what the hotel was obligated to provide. Service was lovely throughout the stay - staff were polite, calm, and elegant. The room was very clean, very spacious, and comfortable. The one major issue is that the shower water pressure is really bad, the rain shower is good, but the regular shower head was really bad. Another issue is the TV casting is totally broken, and there isn't a separate sound system, which is a bit of a miss at this tier of hotel. The rooms had club lounge access, and I tried breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour. I really liked afternoon tea and happy hour, a good variety of tasty finger food was provided, although the happy hour alcohol selection is quite disappointing. Breakfast is so so, I would recommend going to the full lobby breakfast instead, as there are much more options. I had dinner one night at Camelia, the Italian restaurant, and it was decent. Overall I had a great stay with only some minor issues in the room, and would happily stay here again, given the hotel is quite competitively priced, especially when booking thru Amex FHR, where we got a 3rd night free deal.

I don't understand the negative reviews. I had an amazing experience from start to finish. Seriously, all the extra perks they gave me were beyond what I thought I was even receiving. I felt like I had the 5 stars experience for sure. I did however book the hotel with my Capital One venture X. I would definitely come back to this hotel again. My stay at Regent Shanghai Pudong was exceptional from start to finish. The location is perfect, with stunning views of the city’s iconic skyscrapers. We ordered room service and the food was delicious. The room was spacious and elegantly designed, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the complimentary mini bar was a thoughtful and classy touch. Truly a luxurious five-star experience that exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended!
