Close to a lot of attractions, train station, the bund. Great view from the corner to the new towers. friendly staff, great selection for buffet breakfast, outdoor seating is a great touch with fabulous views of the city. Perfect hotel with uninterrupted views of the city. Get a city view room. I did.

Second time staying here and this time is 10 days. The breakfast buffet is nice but after having it for 10 days, anything gets boring. Very nice decor through out the entire hotel and very nice outdoor seating for meeting/breakfast/lunch.

Good location. Just walk away around 100m from Subway. Around 100m to the high end shopping arcade. It’s around 500m to Yu Garden and 1km to Shanghai Bund. All of them can be reach by walking. It’s about 10 minutes walking to Shanghai Bund. The hotel itself has a good variant breakfasts. It’s tasty but all the morning has the same menus. A bit boring if you stay longer. When i slept there, it’s on renovation period. So it’s about messy outside of the hotel. One thing that i really like this hotel was, it has a FREE supper start at 22:00 every night. The corridor at 2nd floor a bit smelly. This was not nice for me. Even though over all it’s a nice hotel but a bit expensive.

First off it is not the most fancy hotel in the area, but with the price you can't go wrong. Rooms are clean and quite. Wifi is free. Receptionists with good enough English are all very friendly and extremely helpful. They helped us with directions and maps and even helped us make phone calls to clarify questions with our tour operator. They called taxi for us and talked to the driver to make sure we got to the correct destination. We booked both with and without breakfast. If you don't have to leave early, please book one with breakfast included. You will be pleasantly surprised. Breakfast is open at 7am. and stays open until 10am. Breakfast is a 5-star hotel standard with lots of selections. Late night snacks for all guests opens between 10pm to 11.30pm. on the 4th floor restaurant. They also offer laundry room and pretty complete gym. No pool. They provided 2 bottled water in the room plus 2 more and some sodas in the fridge all for free. If you need more, you can always get some extra in the lobby. So no water shortage. Location is about 20 minutes walk to the Bund. About 5 minutes from subway station and 10 minutes from Yu garden area where there's a lot of shops, street food vendors and restaurants. Hotel corridor is designed with minimum lighting, so we have a little trouble opening the doors and looking for the key activated switch if you come back after dark. BTW, the hotel's name in Chinese is Shanghai Chung Xing Jun Ting Chiu Tien. No taxi drivers knows what SSAW or Narada hotel although they're referring to the same hotel. Lastly, please download your web browser with something other than Google's. Google including Google's map, YouTube etc. are completely blocked in China. You can still use iPhone map although is sometimes not accurate either. Don't worry, Google is still tracking you with your location.

I've been on two business trips and chose this hotel because of its proximity to the subway, walking distance to work, and amenities. They are extremely professional, welcoming, and attentive. Considering how tall this hotel is, the rooms are decently spacious and furnished very comfortably. Clean and orderly. Service at the restaurant is second to none. Breakfast and dinner is well-prepared, abundant and tasty. It's one of the many things I miss about China! If you are looking for a balance between budget, service, and comfort, you have found the place.
