Mad Monkey East Side in Sydney is hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at! From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home. The vibe here is unbeatable—friendly, social, and full of energy. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and plenty of space to store your things. The communal areas are fantastic, especially the shared kitchen and lounge, where it’s easy to meet fellow travelers. They host awesome events that bring everyone together—perfect if you’re traveling solo and want to make friends. The location is absolutely ideal. It’s close to all the main attractions, great bars, and public transport, so you can easily explore Sydney while staying in a super convenient spot.

I would highly recommend this hostel. It is in a good location, close to the metro and food stores as well as a gym, which is free with the hostel a big perk. The staff are very friendly and super helpful, they also take really good care of the facilities, everything is clean and well looked after. There is a kitchen, all utensils are provide which again is amazing.

I had an incredible stay at Mad Monkey East Side! From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, making it easy to meet other backpackers. The rooms were really clean and comfortable and the common areas, especially the courtyard and blue room were perfect for relaxing. East Side also hosted daily social events like international food night and game night which made my stay really enjoyable. Another good thing was the location- very close to the CBD and surrounded by many restaurants, making it easy to visit everything I wanted to see during my stay in Sydney. If you're looking for a budget-friendly and cozy hostel in the centre of the city I would definitely recommend it!
