48 & 48A, Jalan Harimau Tarum, Taman Abad, 80250 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
I would have given this 5 stars because of the price to value ratio but I could not because of certain things they still to improve in order meet the 5 star level. Good stuff first. For the cost of this room, value is fantastic. Location is good, very near Plaza Pelangi and walkable to KSL. Rooms are clean and the bedsheets plus towels are also clean. There's quite a lot of space if you choose the rooms with the ensuite bathroom. They do provide shower foam and shampoo and 2 toothbrushes but it's obviously the no brand type . There's also a kettle and 2 cups provided. For a no frills stay, this is really 1 of the good ones. Now for the bad. Like what everyone says, you definitely need data to check in. No matter what platform you purchased the rooms from, you'll have to contact them via WhatsApp to get your pin codes. There are 3 codes, 1 for the main door, 1 to get to the rooms with ensuite toilet and another for your own room. The funny thing is the section of the rooms with the ensuite toilets does not have a common area with a fridge unlike the section with the common toilets. This is weird because the ensuite toilets costs more but yet you won't have a fridge to put your stuff in or to chill out with your friends. I guess this will cut down the noise somewhat if you stay in the section with the ensuite toilets because the walls are very thin. I was fortunate to get a rear facing room but I had a friend whose room faced main road and it was noisy. Some rooms didn't even have a window. The other con is they'll ask for a deposit, S$16 per room. For those Singaporeans, you have to PayNow to a Malaysian number. Not many apps allow you to do that. GPay doesn't and neither does ocbc. If you can't change the country code in your banking app, ask them to send you the QR, that works. The refund process takes quite long. I got mine after 6 hours even though they said the refund will be processed in 4 hours after check out. They really need to improve the deposit refund process. People don't like to wait so long for the refund to be done. Or at least be upfront to say refunds will be done in 6 hours instead of 4. I really don't know what will happen if the guests are not from SG,how will they do the deposit payment then? And will the refund take days to happen ? Overall I'd say it was a good experience and I might certainly return to stay in future.
Almost all facilities and items are available in a shared space including water filter, refrigerator, iron, tissue paper, shampoo and soap. The door lock system is easy to use and does not require keys. Overall cleanliness is good. Towel, tissue, a toothbrush set, hanger and a trash can are available in the room. The room is not soundproof though. It would be better if there is a hair dryer even if it is at the shared space. The deposit was returned within the same day via bank-in transfer. Also, a random add on, my slipper was used as a door stopper? Not sure why they used the customer’s footwear instead of their own to hold the door. Something to take note of if you’re sensitive with your footwear since they are kept outside with the water dispenser.
