The best thing about this hotel was its location. Within walking distance, we had easy access to some of the famous food markets and shopping areas. The room was also quite good, and the washroom featured a colorful lighting system that was fascinating. Upon our arrival at the hotel, the receptionist served us a refreshing and delicious drink, which was perfect for the heat of Penang.
Excellent location, good service & very warm welcome by Bill ! This is our second visit, it is Superb. The bed & pillows are very comfortable. A cozy & unique hotel in the middle of Georgetown city. Thx to Bill, who recommended us with lots of local eatery around. Delicious ? & appreciated ????
We stayed at Macalister Terraces Hotel in George Town, Penang for a couple of nights and overall had a pretty good experience. The location was a major plus—close to local attractions and plenty of food spots, which made getting around really convenient. The only downside was the incredibly loud karaoke coming from somewhere nearby on the first night, which didn’t stop until midnight. It was quite disruptive, but aside from that, the stay was comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re after a well-located spot in Penang, it’s a solid choice—just be mindful of potential noise depending on the night.
Great location is you'd like to stay in the heart of the city and not worry about carpark. There is ample carpark right in front of the hotel. Room is spacious and clean. Downsides are that the toilet door is unable to be closed from the outside so we have to sleep with the door opened. Staff should also not walk into the rooms with their dirty shoes. That was something we didn't appreciate when being showed the room. I hope housekeeping removes their shoes before coming in to clean. Room #20's toilet is also leaking very badly now. I hope they get it fixed. Other than that, we were very pleased with this choice. There is a small seating area in the courtyard to chill with friends and family. Many eateries like No 5 CKT within walking distance to fill your tummies. Richard Rivalee is across, however their food quality has not been too consistent of late. We will return.
