Hidden Gem! Beautiful boutique hotel with lots of history. It feels like entering museum hotels. Lots of antiques displayed in the lobby. Food is yummy, room is clean and spacious. Staffs are very friendly, make me feels home because the hotel itself feels like staying at my very own home. I love the welcome snack ❤️ Generous on bottled mineral water Comfortable stay for my business trip.

Was a great place to stay before my flight! Pillows were insanely cozy, ac worked well, and staff was friendly. The lady at reception even helped me print my visa for Vietnam. I also had so much left over cash from Indonesia, I decided to order room service and it was PHENOMENAL, the service was also PHENOMENAL. Employees are truly so kind and make you feel comfortable. Only thing I will warn, is that the bigger bed rooms are 2 smaller mattresses put together, which means you can only sleep on one side instead of the middle. But I found this to be a very common occurrence in Indonesia so im sure it’s a country thing. Indonesia probably just uses smaller mattresses so it’s probably harder for them to accommodate a true Queen/King mattress.

Overall good. Average breakfast, service is good by some and lesser by others. Decent location to China town, 15 minutes walk from central area Ampel. Overall for price is good

Kokoon Hotel Surabaya is housed in a historic building originally constructed in the 1920s, located in Surabaya’s old commercial district, which was a bustling business area during the Dutch colonial era. The building itself was formerly a wooden matchstick factory established in 1928, retaining much of its colonial Dutch architecture and vintage interior elements like old bicycles, typewriters, and a massive safe. The hotel opened around 2018 after converting this heritage site into a boutique hotel that blends colonial design with modern comforts, offering guests a nostalgic experience of Surabaya’s past while providing contemporary amenities Sadly I find the location less appealing n many taxi find it hard to locate. The streets are narrow, not the cleanest of places but their rooms are nice n comfortable. Bfast selection cld b improved but they have some of the most friendliest of staff, always greeting u w a smile. Room did not hv a fridge, hair dryer or safe n seeing all the historical safe downstairs i cld hv used1. 3rd floor window was a brick wall n it was pretty dark even w all the lights on. The AC is dam cold n the shower water pressure n heat was superb. If ur looking 4an affordable lace w deep history thn dis hotel is indeed a good choice.

Had a really nice lunch at The Arch Bistro, which is located inside Hotel Kokoon near Kota Lama, Surabaya. I tried the grilled cow ribs with sambal — super tender and juicy, really easy to bite! Also had the seafood capcay, which came with lots of veggies (loved that!), and an iced americano. The coffee was a bit too bitter for my taste, but still refreshing. The ambience here is awesome — the interior is filled with antique stuff that gives the place a really unique and aesthetic vibe. Definitely a great spot to chill or catch up over a meal. The staff were friendly and helpful too, which made the experience even better. Would totally recommend this place if you’re around Kota Lama and looking for a cozy, stylish spot to eat!
