The J Hotel is beyond amazing. We dined in the private room of the Japanese restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent. We appreciated Chef Terry’s creativity in the food presentation. The hotel room is exceptionally spacious, well configured and stunning. Staff were all sincere and helpful. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night and arrived quite late, around 8 PM, via Subway Line 2. The location is convenient, and the room accommodations are typical of a 5-star hotel. When we requested an ice bucket, they provided a trolley for the ice machine, which was a creative solution. There is nothing to complain about regarding the room itself; it was quite nice. However, the breakfast was rather average. The view from the 120th floor is overrated, as it heavily depends on clear skies, and unfortunately, the smog made it less enjoyable. The swimming pool was not to my liking, and the sauna was closed for maintenance. Additionally, the female staff member at the facility was quite noisy—perhaps overly concerned because we were foreigners—making her behavior seem overly protective. Overall, while the room was pleasant, some aspects of the experience fell short of expectations.

I can’t say enough positive things about our week long stay here which was both business and pleasure. Everything was exceptional-the service, food, facilities and the stunning art and decor. Special thanks to Vivian who looked after us at breakfast each morning, Regin at Concierge who managed a variety of our daily needs including a hairdresser appointment and transfers(!) and lovely Hayley on the main desk who organised an unexpected hospital appointment and transfers for me. The love and attention to every detail can be seen and felt in every aspect and what separates the service here as a luxury hotel is that everything feels so sincere and genuine. We have travelled the world and stayed in many luxury hotels but this is by far our favourite. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

From the moment we arrived at this exquisite luxury hotel, we were treated to an experience unlike any other. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee or unwinding at sunset, the sight of the Shanghai skyline from our room was nothing short of spectacular. There is really nothing like it. The hotel’s service is impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, always anticipating your needs before you even realize them. Every detail made us feel truly pampered. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The bedding is also worth mentioning because it was truly the most luxurious and comfortable that we have ever slept on. The mattress was the ideal firmness, and the covers were nice and heavy but not too warm. The J Hotel is the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and awe-inspiring views. I can't wait to return!
