I booked the Family Room (2 queen beds). The room is clean and very spacious (there is ample space to pray as well). The morning staff is nice and very good at accommodating. There are a lot of restaurants and necessities store nearby that you could just walk to it. Very recommended.

It just behind Renaissance Hotel. Quite Good hotel , with large room , clean , very satisfied and comfortable to stay in. Booking from Agoda with reasonable price. But have to pay parking in day time to MBJB with download their Apps, as hotel doesn't provide free parking lot. Highly recommend this hotel to who want to stay in Permas Jaya, JB.

Maybe i was one of the unlucky ones, first when check in the counter guy was damn weird, i have stayed at many hotels before and normally for just few days stay there isn’t any deposit needed to be made moreover i have already paid through agoda, when i said i dont have cash with me i can only use card the guy just said “oh then it’s ok we only take cash for deposits” ?? Sounds suspicious. Nvm once i got in the room(which i even more dont see y a deposit is needed) i checked the pillow and bedsheets and had a huge surprise, 4 pillows and almost all had smudge bug on it? When i went back down to request change of room the counter guy in a not friendly tone “WHY AH” ermm bedsheet stain like this u expect me to sleep on it?

The next day when check out, a different counter guy seems more friendly and he didn’t even mention anything about the deposit. So i hope management can check on that certain staff who requested deposit and only in cash ?

The hotel is situated in a convenient location. That the only great thing going for this place. There was a MacDonald's right across the hotel. There was also a mini mart & a couple of pharmacies near by which helped as I needed some medication. Aeon was nearby in a walkable distance (10mins maybe?). The room was clean but there were other faults.
Here's my critique though:
The Aircon wasn't as strong as we'd expected. Even at 16°C we couldn't feel much. It didn't help that we were only given one key card; so everything would shut off when we go out. We'd come back & have to wait for the Aircon to cool the room down. We couldn't adjust anything more than that to make it colder (while waiting to check in, there was a family in front of us saying that their Aircon & fridge weren't working properly). Our fridge was also affected (we couldn't keep anything cool). The toilet was ok but the bidet pressure was very low. It was ridiculous. We learned very quickly that you could do a #2 & flush toilet paper down at the same time. The shower was warm-ish & that was about it; no matter how you turned the tap, there was a standard temperature. The bath gel & shampoo bottles were very small. Gone in a day & a half. There was no soap bar either. The room is adequate if you're going to be out for most of your stay. However, sleeping was uncomfortable as the room would take a long while to get comfortably cool.

Affordable rooms at Permas Jaya. Although the rooms looked quite clean, the bed sheets and duvet had random dark spots. The mini-fridge in the room also had a weird stench. The water heater in our room was also not working, and the water was lukewarm at best, cold most of the time. The ac in our room also let out a puddle of water on our last day, and was dripping continuously after. The front office staff on duty offered to call maintenance at 12am at first, and only offered us a spare room when pressed. Overall, the standard was quite typical of hotels in JB, even those nearer to the checkpoint.
