We chose this hotel for its rare 4-bed room option in Taipei, but be aware it's a 7-minute walk from the nearest metro. Check-in was quick, but we had a major issue with pricing. Despite a confirmed booking and signed contract, they tried to overcharge us after we had checked in and paid. Even showing them the contract didn't resolve it immediately, requiring manager intervention. While the included breakfast was convenient due to limited nearby options, the self-service setup was often lacking milk and clean mugs. Housekeeping was also inconsistent, requiring us to occasionally call for cleaning. Late-night instant noodles were a plus.

Stayed for 5 nights. Suggested by work colleague. Not a bad area, downtown and plenty of restaurants nearby. Seems most hotels in Taipei roughly the same style for mid range pricing.

I stopped by one day to check out the restaurant at Hamp Court Palace and spoke with the manager, Roger. He was very helpful and arranged a private room for our upcoming family dinner. He also introduced us to the restaurant’s signature rice dumplings for the Dragon Boat Festival — they were absolutely delicious. Roger also recommended that we stay at Hamp Court Palace, and it turned out to be a great choice. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. The shower with strong hot water, and the amenities were thoughtfully provided — I especially appreciated the warm toilet seat! I also liked their eco-friendly approach of using refillable water jars instead of plastic bottles. As a fun surprise, Roger even arranged for the hotel’s service robot “Hamper” to deliver slippers to our room. Breakfast at Hamp Court Palace was another pleasant experience — relaxed, bright, and with a good variety of food. Olivia and her team welcomed us warmly and made sure everything was well taken care of. Their friendly and attentive service gave our mornings a great start and added to the overall enjoyment of our stay.
