Great location and value for money. Rooms are pretty quiet. Me and my girlfriend stayed in private rooms, the one on the 12th floor are much better and newer than the 5th floor. Bathrooms were clean even tough a lot of people in the hostel in those days. The reception is on the 12th floor, in the same room there is a Bar after 18:30 where you have to pay the minimum consumption and hang out with other people, and also they server breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30. For breakfast they provide a bland coffee, steamed würstel, white bread and toasts with sweet or savoury spreads. Some toilets are also Japanese style with heated seats and bidet. The elevator is not bad, a bit old but really fast. 5 stars also to the staff, we had an issue and we got it sorted in the best way possible for us, so thank you guys.
This was our first time staying in a hostel where many amenities are shared with other guests, such as the kitchen, bathroom, and sink. The toilet area was a bit cramped, which could be inconvenient for some. For extroverts, this place might feel like a social haven. As introverts, we found it a little awkward at times to walk through the common areas with other people around but we eventually got used to it. The kitchen was well-equipped with the basics: utensils, a microwave, and a fridge, which was very convenient. Our room was just the right size for two people, comfortable enough for sleeping and moving around. The front desk staff were friendly, fluent in English, and provided a thorough explanation of everything upon check-in. Although we had an overall pleasant stay, we came to realize that this type of accommodation might not be the best fit for us. Still, it was a refreshing and worthwhile experience!
This place is so lovely. Clean and new and comfortable and extremely fairly priced. Nice staff and a basic free breakfast. Stay here!!
Formosa is my go-to stay whenever I visit Taipei. IT is very convenient. There's a bus station right at the building, different convience stores around the area and even one night market few steps away. If you need a good night drinks, the inn has one, the bar will be open around 7pm. THey also offer free breakfast(coffee and toast/bread). The front desk was accommodating(Shoutout to Billy!) The MRT is around 11-15 mins walking.
