Probably the best hostel I have stayed in ever (and I have spent quite some time in hostels during my travels in the past years). The location is amazing central in Christchurch. The facilities are super new, clean and so beautiful. Someone with an eye for design and branding made this place for sure. It was super quiet at night and I loved that the beds have curtains for privacy. Had the best sleep in those comfy beds. The facility offers so many options to hang out either meeting people or for some quiet me time. There is a whole Yoga Studio with all equipment (mats, blocks,bolsters,foam rollers) and occasional in person Yoga classes or you can pop a program up on the screen and do your workout. The staff is super friendly and chill. I would have loved to stay longer ❤️

I’m traveling solo since over 1 year and this is hands down the best hostel I ever stayed at! It’s very new and incredibly well designed. It’s very spacious, yet cozy and social and very very clean. The beds are super comfy, they have curtains, even the linen and pillows are of high quality. The yoga/pilates, zen room are gorgeous and the classes were very good too. I felt like being in a beautiful retreat. There are many common rooms for socializing but also taking some private time. The location is amazing too - very central and super easy to get to/from the bus station. The only little downside is that the kitchen is extremely small for the amount of people staying but somehow it works. I could have stayed here much longer. Thank you for the great experience!

Exceptionally difficult to find anything to fault about Drifter, Christchurch! The dorm rooms (& ensuites) are very clean & spacious with comfy, curtained off beds & oodles of space for luggage storage/spreading out. The kitchen is also very clean & exceptionally well equipped but a little on the squeezy side during peak eating times. There are a multiude of break-out spaces (library, conference/working rooms, cinema & yoga studio) as well as the on-site bar/restaurant. The staff were always friendly, welcoming & accommodating of me & my bicycle/large luggage. This is located n the CBD, in close proximity to a multitude of shops & eaterys & is 3 min walk from central bus station which is particularly handy.

Wow what a beautiful hostel. Room was lovely, beds were super comfy and the overall cleanliness was 10/10. Lovely staff and had a great nights stay. I'll be keen to come back here again

Best hostel EVER ! I didn’t want to leave !! In fact I extended my stay from one night to 4 nights I don’t want to try other hostel after this one ? The place is amazing, beautiful, cosy! The kitchen is very well equipped ! The lounge area is perfect to eat, work, read, meet some people ! The rooms are perfect, beds really comfy ! Everything is really clean (just depends of the people who are staying here of course) The location is great too, I think there is a bus stop right there but honestly you can do a lot of things walking, it’s pretty close and the best way to discover a city ? The tattoo salon in the hostel is a great idea too !! Thanks for this amazing Christchurch escape ?? I would love to come back !
