Dorsett Wanchai, 387-397 Queen's Rd E, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
Alright so the rooms were smaller than I anticipated for a room with two queen beds but it was manageable. The bathroom, however, was incredibly small. The walk-in shower was nice with two different shower heads and the shower itself was spacey. The rest of the bathroom was quite small. The beds were very comfortable but you were only given a single pillow. The staff was always extremely helpful and did their best to help. The shuttle service was awesome but the drivers didn’t always stick to the times. I was waiting to get picked up at Central Pier #9 and the shuttle was 10 minutes early. Luckily I was already waiting but had I shown up 5 minutes later I would have missed the shuttle. The hotel provides water bottle refilling stations and have water stations in the lobby until 6 pm. Afterwards they put out candy and snacks for their guests. Overall, I would stay here again. Just keep in mind to be early for the shuttles, especially Bus 1 as Bus 2 was always more consistent.
Bed is super comfy. So thankful they reserved a room with the view of the Happy Valley Racecourse. Breakfast buffet was decent. Service is very nice - everybody was accommodating and polite. Check-in was smooth. Location is just right, a little walk to nearby MTR stations. Most of all, me and friends felt super safe during the Super Typhoon Ragasa in this hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at Dorsett Wanchai. The hotel went out of their way to decorate the room beautifully for our daughter’s birthday, which made the occasion truly special. The housekeeping was excellent, the staff were very welcoming, and every interaction felt warm and thoughtful. A very good hotel that genuinely cares for its guests... highly recommended.
Rooms advertised 3 single, what it was was a roller bed squished in the space between a 2 single bed room. Meaning we could not use the wardrobe or fridge without climbing over a bed. Not complaining as our view of the Hong Kong Football club and Race Course was amazing. The hallway and rooms are very dated but after a long day of exploring all we wanted to do was climb into bed and sleep anyway. Our shower head kept swinging towards the door which meant we had a puddle on the floor after showers but not a biggy as our rooms were serviced and soaking wet towels replaced each day. While all staff were friendly one receptionist was abrupt and unhelpful. The housekeepers were beautiful beings and the concierge staff also fantastic. The shuttle run exactly on time and that was awesome made our days simple. The elevators are terrible they take a long time probably because they randomly stop at floors with no one waiting, there's also no music which can remove the awkward feeling when in there with others. The lobby is always in pristine condition and kept immaculately! Which is awesome especially given the foot traffic through there over a 24hr period.
