1 King's Cross Rd, London WC1X 9HX, United Kingdom
Decent Business Hotel, But Some Annoyances A solid 3.5-star stay with good access to King’s Cross/St. Pancras but let down by a few quirks. Ideal for business travelers or short stays, but not luxury. The Good ✔ ✔ Spacious Rooms – Comfortable beds, modern decor, and decent workspace (good for business trips). ✔ Prime Location – 5-min walk to King’s Cross Station (Eurostar/Thameslink/Underground). Close to British Library and Coal Drops Yard. ✔ Friendly Staff – Helpful and efficient check-in/out. ✔ Quiet Despite Central Spot – Double-glazed windows block street noise well. The Not-So-Good ✖ ✖ Tiny, Poorly Designed Bathroom – Shower is open-plan with no proper door, flooding the floor. Very cramped for two people. ✖ Lobby Lacks Snacks/Quick Bites – Only a small bar with limited options. No 24/7 grab-and-go counter. ✖ Slow Elevators at Peak Times – Long waits in the morning (pack patience if you’re in a rush). ✖ Breakfast Just "Okay" – Standard buffet but nothing memorable (better cafes nearby). Verdict: "Fine for a Night, But Don’t Expect Perfection"
The location isn’t particularly premium, and while the rooms are generally fine, the bathroom felt a bit dated. Housekeeping could use improvement, they often didn’t provide enough towels, frequently forgot to restock water bottles, and the room wasn't always cleaned to a high standard. It seems they may have a policy against moving personal items, which affects how thoroughly the room is tidied. On the positive side, the breakfast was enjoyable, and the dining staff were attentive and friendly. The front desk team and in-house booking staff were also helpful and professional, contributing positively to the overall experience.
We stayed there for three nights during our trip and had a wonderful experience. Since we arrived a little early, we left our bags at the property and explored the city. The breakfast spread was quite good, though it tended to get busy between 9 and 10 AM. The front desk staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming.
