The rooms are really clean and the staff is very friendly. If you have heavy luggage, I would recommend you take a taxi to the front door of the hotel. We didn’t and had to carry our luggage up and down stairs in the underground until a friendly local pointed out the escalator (there aren’t ground level crosswalks close to the hotel)
We made a mistake with our booking and was assigned a wheelchair friendly room. In summary, here are the pros and cons of this hotel: Pros: 1. location is excellent. Stone's throw away from shopping and very conveniently close to subway. 2. The hotel offers good breakfast at reasonable price though we opted to eat out. 3. Staff are friendly and helpful and they speak reasonably good English. 4. Decent toiletries Cons: 1. The bathroom wash basin is sensor-activated. Why on earth they have such a faucet I do not know. Imagine having to put one hand to ensure water continues to flow while you wash your face in the morning, or to even fill up the kettle (!). This is not a public toilet (face-palm). 2. The wash basin faucet has only cold water (because it is the sensor-type tap you see in public toilet) so it can be cold to brush your teeth in the morning (brrrrrrr....). This is a handicap-friendly room - having such a faucet certainly does not make sense. 3. They do not provide disposable amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste etc and we understand the environment impact of giving out such things. But over 3 nights, they gave us 7 disposable combs. We did not take any but they will do better to align their environmental efforts with their housekeeping staff.
Crown Park Hotel Seoul is conveniently located in the Myeongdong area of Seoul. We had an excellent stay in this gem of a hotel. From our first encounter at the front desk, daily house keeping and the wonderful breakfast we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast at the hotels newly renovated restaurant was a great way to start the morning with an excellent assortment of a western style breakfast including eggs and omelettes made to order. A good selection of pastries, meats and cheeses. The staff in the restaurant was very attentive and pleasant.
Excellent location and service was good. Breakfast was very pleasant suprise as good selection and quality. Rooms are little small, if compare to usual hotels room in EU/USA, but have stayed same size example in Japan too. No complaine for toilet and did love that "Japanese style toilet" with many functions. Cleaning service worked very well. Biggest minus was size of bed as actually was not aware it to be little for double (no size), but still ok for 2 person, as kid was with us then got more thight feeling.
