We spent 3 nights at Anema, as part of a Bali tour. The hotel is overall nice and quite modern, but it's super isolated, in an area that is dirt-poor. While driving to the hotel, you'll see a lot of garbage outdoors, malnourished animals and so on - quite desolating. The room we had was the one with the small private pool - but we ended up not using it, as it's super small and not very clean. The bigger pool in the common area was much better for us - very, very clean and the area, very quiet. The room was clean but you can get a lot of insects inside - and you have to get used to the tiny lizards, as you'll see them absolutely everywhere (except for the rooms, of course). This can be quite off-putting in the restaurant area. The staff was always nice and polite, always smiling and trying to be helpful. The restaurant was pricey (for decent-quality food, but not exquisite) and the menu, quite limited. As for the spa - we didn't try it, we just had a massage in the outdoor spa, which is honestly great. You can have a good massage on the beach and hear the waves ? Overall the place is very quiet and relaxing - except for the few Muslim prayers that you can hear a few times a day in super loud speakers from the nearby mosques.

1. Friendly lovely well trained staff. They can't do enough for you. 24 hr fast service if you need help or anything to be more comfortable. They meet your every need. Celebrating our 25th anniversary and gave many gestures to make us feel special. 2. Clean! Super clean. Clean rooms early. All the garden areas etc are spotless. 3. Room spacious and plenty of cupboard space, fridge and freezer. Gorgeous bathroom with plenty of space for storage and nice products. 4. Food. Phenomenal and well priced. Fresh and local produce. The steak was best weve ever had. 5. Location. Perfect beach with little to no waves feeling more like a lake. Clean beach. Close to some attractions 6 other: free use of kayaks and snorkles. Staff link you up with drivers for excursions. Scuba training and centre on site. Spa on site. Quiet and peaceful great for down time. Good facilities in room, projector for tv netflix etc. Constant free mineral water. Free afternoon tea every day. Best place we have been on our 3 wk trip across south east asia. Close to speed boats to get to Gili islands. Hotel can organize trips straight from hotel beach too. Book this hotel. We spent 3 nights and checked out when we went to gili meno for night and cancelled our plans to stay in south of the island and decided to check back in again here for 3 more nights. A wonderful piece of mini paradise!

Amazing stay! Quiet, calm and comfortable. Clean rooms, great stuff. Bit too expensive breakfasts but still good in this scenery. Highly recommended especially after Rinjani trek for a bit of chill and relax - to get your legs rest.

Great hotel. I was enjoying my 3 days 2 nights stay so much. The location is close to Bangsal harbor, in quiet area and has direct access to the private beach. The sunset is very beautiful from here, definitely a memorable one. Mba Wika in receptionist is very kind and helpful. Some of them speak French as well, impressing! Foods and beverages are great, many variations are served. Western, Indonesian, Asian, Balinese, you can just choose. Will recommend Anema to everyone who wants to stay in quiet area and close to three gilis!
