Definitely not a 3star but a 4star hotel! Where do we start? Clean room with clean floor tiles, table tops not dusty, comfy beds, working & responsive aircon, TV programmes with many international channels (including cable, SG channels), 2 bottles of mineral water, tea, coffee, mini-fridge, working telephone & more. Water pressure is strong with consistent temperature. Except that the lights are a bit dim for older persons. Buffet breakfast also scores with the gorengan (tempeh, banana, sweet potatoes, mixed veg, stuffed tofu - crispy on the outside & soft on the inside), lemon water is refreshing, meat & carbo taste delicate on our palate, with no or less MSG, tea is not weak, but coffee a bit too strong. Customer service is top-notch where smiles & service are genuine. We were hesitant but after this 2nd stay, we are sold that 89 Hotel Batam has the highest value for comfort & money! Tqvm, 89 Hotel!
