139A, Street 99, Chamkar Morn, Phnom Penh 12300, Cambodia
I stayed in this hotel 7 years ago. It's taking me a long time to write a review but because of how good it was I wanted to review it. Through my travels in Asia this spot was my favourite. The owner and his family were all very pleasant. I can remember the chats I had with the owner and he was very helpful with helping me navigate the city. Gates do close at night so it's a must to let them know as after a certain time it will look like a regular home. I will be back. I promise!
We stayed here for a few nights in one of the AC rooms. It had a TV, no fridge or kettle. One of the cheaper options in Phnom Penh but it was relatively clean with enough space to put things. Had a desk and chair too. Bed was soft. The shower pressure was good although the water never got very hot. No problem though when it’s 35C outside! AC worked well. Staff were nice. The area is out of central, about 15-20 minutes walk to some nice restaurants which are otherwise just a tuktuk ride away. Not an affluent part of town but you get to see the real Cambodia out of the relative glitz of the centre this way. Most of the family speaks good english and their little boy was adorable in advising me about resting when taking my luggage up the stairs (yes, there’s no lift). We had one or two mosquitoes but got rid of them no problem. Would stay again.
For what you are paying for it’s quite nice and cute, have been told neighbourhood is not super safe at night though. But place has locked gates and very sweet owners
