Getting There
One of the best and most affordable ways of getting to Hong Kong is a direct flight onboard Cathay Pacific! With adjustable two-way headrests and ample leg space, 4 hours will fly by without you even knowing it ?
And we know how rare it is to enjoy airplane food, but we really enjoyed our breakfast on Cathay Pacific – a hearty scrambled eggs breakfast complete with button mushrooms and a hash brown. It’s definitely a refreshing change from the usual curry ?
#HHWT Tip: Try to take the morning flight (that is, if your kids can wake up!) so you can arrive in Hong Kong by noon, and have time to explore the city for the rest of the day.
Once you’ve landed, head over to Hong Kong International Airport’s Quiet Rooms if you need a space to pray. There are 3 located in the Restricted Area and 2 outside, so take your pick! There’s a wudhu area in the room and prayer mats are provided, but do bring your own prayer garments ?
Head straight to your hotel
It’s hard to juggle both your luggage and taking care of your kids, so we’d recommend heading to your accommodation first to drop off your luggage. Take the Airport Express to reach the city in less than 24 minutes!
This is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to get to the city, and we loved how comfortable the ride is! Seats in the first and last cabin of the trains are equipped with USB ports, and there is free Wi-Fi onboard too ?

Alight at either Kowloon or Hong Kong station (depending on where your accommodation is) and take a free shuttle bus to your hotel. The bus intervals are pretty regular, and it will alight you directly at your hotel – making it super convenient!

But if you do need to take a taxi, it’ll be handy to have the address of your destination in Chinese as local taxi drivers are unable to speak or understand much English. Ask your hotel staff for help or simply Google it ?
Day 1
Shopping at Harbour City (3h)
- Time to start exploring the city! And what better way to start than with a shopping spree at Hong Kong’s largest shopping mall, conveniently located right below your hotel ?
- The mall is filled with local and international brands, so there’s plenty of options for you to choose from.
- Your kids will love the wide range of toys and games at Harbour City’s Toys”R”Us, the biggest outlet in Asia!

- Dress your kids in the latest fashion at floor G/F of Harbour City. Yes, the mall has an entire floor dedicated to kids’ fashion?
- From luxury brands like GUCCI Kids and BAPE Kids to mid-range brands like Mothercare, there’s no way you can leave this mall empty-handed!
- The mall even has interactive seasonal exhibitions that’ll keep your kids entertained while you shop ?
- Exhibitions change every 2 months, so you’ll always have something new to look forward to!
- If the little one needs a change of diapers or it’s feeding time, there’s a spacious nursing room beside Toys”R”Us!
- The diaper changing area is open, but there are private nursing rooms available too.
Lunch at Green Common (1.5h)
- We know, you must be starving by now! Savour some yummy food at this fully Vegetarian and Vegan restaurant, located in Harbour City.
- The Beyond Burger Plus looks and tastes just like real beef burgers! We were really impressed by the Garden Fish and Chips too – a perfect side for your meal.
- This was honestly one of the best vegetarian food we’ve ever tasted ?
Take a break at Ocean Terminal deck (1h)
- After lunch, take a short breather at Harbour City’s Ocean Terminal deck before continuing the day! The deck is located on the mall’s rooftop and boasts stunning views of the Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s skyline.
- Sit at the grandstand and have some alone time with your spouse, as your kids play at the natural lawn?

- The best time to head there is during sunset, so you can catch the breathtaking view against the beautiful skyline.
Pray at Kowloon Mosque (1h)
- Stop by Hong Kong’s largest mosque for your prayers, and some peace and quiet!
- Kowloon Mosque’s beautiful white marble finish is bound to leave you in awe ?
- It’s also the perfect opportunity to bring your kids and show them the diversity in Islam!
Hop onboard the Aqua Luna (1h)
- All aboard one of Hong Kong’s last remaining red-sail Chinese junks!
- The Aqua Luna is one of the best ways to fully experience Victoria Harbour in all its glory ?

Day 2
Breakfast at Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel
- It’s the start of a brand new day in Hong Kong! And a hearty breakfast is a must for all the energy you’re going to need during the day ?
- One of the highlights of staying in this hotel is their Halal breakfast section. Enjoy sausages, steak, naan, and more at their breakfast spread!

Have an epic time at Ocean Park (5-6h)
- Now that your tummies are filled, get ready for a day of fun at Hong Kong’s oldest and second largest theme park ?
- Ocean Park has plenty to offer, from a marine park to a theme park and an instagrammable cultural zone. It’s the perfect place for kids of all ages!
- There’s plenty to do here, so we recommend setting aside most of your day for this.

Getting Around
- The park is so huge that it’s divided into 2 sections – waterfront and the summit. Take a cable car or train to get around the park, but we’d say go for the cable car if your kids are up for it!
- Not only will you enjoy a bird’s eye view of the park, you’d also be immersed in the gorgeous sea views surrounding the park ?
#HHWT Tip: If you’re pushing a stroller around the park, take the slope up to the cable car. You can simply fold the stroller and fit it into the cabin!
Meet some of Ocean Park’s residents
- Before heading to the summit, visit some of Ocean Park’s adorable animals!
- Giant Pandas Ying Ying and Le Le are set to make your hearts melt. They are most active in the morning (around 10am) hence we recommend visiting them right when you enter the park.
- The young ones will probably want to go even closer to their adorable friends, and the best part is that they can! Your entire family can ‘meet the giant panda’, learn how to prepare the pandas’ special meals, and even feed them ?
Family-friendly rides
- There are plenty of family-friendly rides in the park, both at the Waterfront and the Summit.
- Whiskers Harbour, at the Waterfront, is the place to be for younger kids! There’s a bouncy house (Bouncer House), a ferris wheel (Balloons Up-Up-And-Away) and even mini thrill rides such as the Frog Hopper, if your kids are a bit more daring.
- Older kids will especially love the Whirly Bird and Arctic Blast at the Summit! The rides are not too thrilling but are enough to give them a little jolt ?
- Don’t miss the Sea Life Carousel too - perfect for the whole family to hop on and enjoy, especially if you’re travelling with toddlers!

- Are your teenage kids looking for rides that’ll set their hearts racing? Well, you’ve definitely brought them to the right place ?

Use Ocean Park’s family-friendly facilities
- Family-friendly facilities are also widely available in the park. There are a few nursery rooms both at the waterfront and summit. Plus, there are shared washrooms for both you and your kids!
- To make it easier for your family to get around the park, take the elevators instead of the escalators ?
Perform your prayers at Guest Relations
- While there is no dedicated prayer room in Ocean Park, you can use the room in Guest Relations to perform your prayers!
- Simply head to the Guest Relations counter (either at the Waterfront or Summit), and let them know you’d like to use the room for prayers ?
Shopping at Ladies Market or Sham Shui Po (1.5h)
- The kids might be tired from all the fun at Ocean Park, but there’s always room (and energy!) for some shopping ?
- Drop by Ladies Market for some cheap and good souvenirs as gifts for family and friends back home.
- Younger children will also love the cute toys and plushies being sold at a number of stalls!
#HHWT Tip: Bargain your way to the lowest prices! Or adopt the walk-away technique, and try another shop.
- Alternatively, you can also head to Sham Shui Po for a shopping spree! This neighbourhood is famous for its fabrics, electronics and toy streets.
- First up, Fuk Wing St (Toy Street)! Your kids will love the wide array of toys available here ?
- Be sure to check out the wide range of wholesale fabrics at Yu Chau Street too! The fabric sold is cheap and of good quality - perfect for the family to choose matching Hari Raya outfits ☺️
P.S. If you and the kids are not too tired, we recommend heading to both shopping spots as they offer entirely different things. You won’t regret it!
Dinner at Ma’s restaurant
- A delectable dinner awaits you at Prince Edward station, just one MTR stop away!
- Specializing in Xinjiang cuisine, the food is so delicious even the locals flock here. For starters, try their beef goulash that’s overflowing with juicy minced beef and soup on the inside ?
- We highly recommend their sweet and sour chicken as well!
- If Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel is your accommodation, it’s a short 7-minute MTR ride away from Ma’s Restaurant ?
Day 3
Hong Kong’s best halal dim sum for breakfast
- You can choose to have breakfast at the hotel, or travel to Islamic Centre Canteen to enjoy delicious dim sum. This canteen is a must-visit for Muslim travellers!
- Feast on the best siew mai with chicken and crispy shrimp wonton. Be sure to arrive before 3pm though, as the dim sum menu is not available after.
Conquer Hong Kong Disneyland
- Yes, it’s finally time to head to one of the happiest places in the world ?
- Take the MTR to Disneyland (Disneyland Resort Station) - it stops right outside the park!
- If possible, we recommend reaching around half an hour before its official opening time as there may be queues even before the park opens!
#HHWT Tip: Skip the long queues for entrance tickets by getting them on Klook! Simply scan the barcode on your mobile e-ticket to enter the park ? But if you’d like the physical ticket for memory’s sake, exchange the ticket at the AutoMagic Tickets machine!
Family-friendly rides
- Kickstart your adventure with some of the park’s more popular family-friendly rides! Winnie the Pooh and Iron Man Experience will enthrall kids of all ages ?
- Mad Hatter Tea Cups is also the perfect ride to have fun with the whole family as you’ll be able to spin your tea cup to your heart’s content.
- Save even more time with Disneyland’s FASTPASS tickets (available for some rides including Hyperspace Mountain, Winnie the Pooh and Iron Man Experience)! Simply head to the ticket machine at these rides to get your tickets for free, and come back at the allocated time slot.
Thrill rides
- Hyperspace Mountain might be one of the most highly sought-after thrill rides in the park, but there are others which deserve your attention too.
- Don’t miss the RC Racer and Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars – must-try rides if you and your older kids are looking for an adrenaline rush!
Character meet and greets
- There’s no way you can bring your children to Disneyland without getting up close and personal with their favourite Disney characters!
- Queues for the meet and greets are usually really long, so we recommend picking the top few characters on your list to queue for.

Collect free Disney stickers
- While exploring the park, be sure to look out for Disney cast members! From the staff in the stores to custodial staff, each of them carry adorable Disney stickers that’ll build your kids’ character-themed sticker collection. All you have to do is ask!
Must-watch shows
- Apart from the floating parade, you have to add Festival of the Lion King to your itinerary!
- Watch your favourite characters Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa come to life on massive floats, flanked by acrobatic performances and fire dancers!
- Have a family singalong to iconic Lion King songs like The Circle of Life and Hakuna Matata ?
Feast on yummy Halal food
- All that fun and games must have made you hungry ? Head to Explorer’s Club Restaurant to savour a wide variety of cuisine from Korean, Japanese to Indonesian food!

- If you brought or rented a stroller, simply park it at the entrance of the restaurant! That way, you can buy your food and grab a seat without the hassle of a stroller ?
Perform your prayers next door
- Disneyland’s prayer room is conveniently located next to the restaurant!
- The prayer room is equipped with the best wudhu facilities but do bring your own prayer mats and garments, as they are not provided.

Head up to Ngong Ping (3.5h)
- End your trip on a high note (literally!) at Ngong Ping!
- You can choose to take either the standard cabin or the crystal cabin to the top, but we recommend the latter as the glass-bottom feature of the cabin is bound to excite the kids! They will love looking out at the gorgeous nature views through the glass around and especially right below their feet ?

- Once you reach the top, walk through the quaint village and climb 268 steps (don’t worry, both the young and old have conquered this ?) to reach Lantau’s most iconic landmark.
- The Tian Tan Buddha is one of the largest seated bronze Buddha statues in the world!
- Spend some time exploring the village and you’ll come across Po Lin Monastery, founded by 3 nuns in 1918!
