You might think you've covered every nook and cranny of Penang, but there's a relaxing local village that awaits anyone who wishes to step away from the city's hustle and bustle. If you're looking for a unique Instagram spot in Penang, this is it!

Surrounded by tall coconut trees and traditional wooden houses, make your way to Homestay Kampung Agong that looks like a page out of Lat's Kampung Boy comic book. Situated in the mainland of Penang, the homestay is located at Kampung Bakar Kapor, which is 50 minutes drive from the Penang Bridge.

Walk around Homestay Kampung Agong and you'll stumble upon hanging nests that were inspired by actual burung tempua nests (also known as the weaver bird) found around the village ?

It takes one month to built each of these unique replicas. At the moment, they have three burung tempua nests named Sarang Ibu, Anak Dara and Sarang Baby. Turn it into a challenge and take snapshots of all three nests! ?

You can also find two large-size bird's nest where you can cosy up inside and take pictures with it. There's also enough space for a fun and cheeky group photo! ?

To keep things exciting, Homestay Kampung Agong has six swings that are made from discarded wood and nets. The crowd's favourite swing is the one that faces the vast paddy fields and village landscape ?

Besides their famous swings, stretch your legs and explore other areas of Homestay Kampung Agong. Look out for this cute pond that is sprawled with water lilies as well as a white piano facing the paddy field. If you know your best angles, you can turn it into an Instagram-worthy picture too.

Spending time at this homestay may remind you of your hometown. More so, with the Malay and Chinese traditional houses that are neatly detailed with wicker rattan baskets, wooden birdcages and ceramic pots. Guess what? These houses are also made from discarded wood! ?

Besides walking around and immersing in the relaxing landscape, hop on the bicycle to check out different corners of Homestay Kampung Agong. Visitors can rent the bicycle for RM4 each, and it's a great way to enjoy a spin around the village.

If you're already charting your Penang trip with this place in mind, you can expect more surprises at Homestay Kampung Agong in the months to come! One thing is certain, you're going to have a swinging time in Penang ?
