With the weather being as gloriously chilly as it is now, some of us opt to venture out and have a non-humid outing (for once ?) instead of staying at home and chilling in bed. With the new year, comes new and exciting events to kick-start 2018; and hipster arts events are all in the rage now. Here's 4 awesome January events happening in Singapore that you don't want to miss!

1. Light To Night Festival: Colour Sensations

The yearly urban art event brings visitors on a colourful journey across Singapore’s civic district by transforming major cultural institutions into stunning showpieces. Find a corner and make yourself cosy on the picnic ground situated at The Padang and bask in awe at the multimedia projection show proudly displayed across the National Gallery building.

If you're feeling peckish, grab a light bike at the nearby Festival Food Street or bring along a picnic basket with all your favourite snacks. 2. Art After Dark

3. 35MM Art Market

The brainchild of The Local People, in collaboration with the Singapore Art Musuem, comes the biggest art market to date -  the 35MM Art Market! With over 120 indie booths selling all kinds of trinkets, from curry puff pillows, punny handmade cards to cat themed decorations, you'll be spending quite a bit of time browsing.

4. ARTWALK

This year’s art walk, titled Urban Mythology takes places in Little India and features quirky murals, public art installations and puppetry-making. Discover long-lost myths that pepper the streets of Little India and watch them come alive with art!
