Calling all Potterheads – prepare for the ultimate magical experience at Harry Potter: Visions of Magic! The 40,000 sqft multi-sensory attraction at Resort’s World Sentosa features 10 interactive zones inspired by the Wizarding World, making it perfect for those who haven’t had the chance to visit the overseas world studio tours.

The journey begins as every wizard does – with a wand and a Hogwarts letter delivered by an owl. From there, you’re transported into iconic moments starting with the Knight Bus, where the projections made the stationary bus come alive. I couldn’t stop smiling as I wandered through each immersive zone.

My favourite zone was The Chamber of Secrets, a Singapore exclusive. From the infamous snake door that only opens with Parseltongue to Salazar Slytherin’s stone statue and the slithering basilisk, the attention to detail was mind-blowing.

The soundscape and lighting made it feel like I could speak Parseltongue. I was also mesmerised by Grimmauld Place and the Room of Requirement, swishing my wand to reveal hidden treasures like Rowena’s diadem and Slughorn’s hourglass. 9-year-old me was doing somersaults inside.

Photo ops abound, especially at the Hall of Prophecy and Knockturn Alley where I joined others in swishing our wands to summon the Dark Mark – this reminded me of that scene when Barty Crouch Jr. summoned the mark in Goblet of Fire. Whilst most zones were immersive, a couple fell flat like Newt’s Menagerie. This felt more like a visual display than an immersive experience. And while the wand mechanics were fun, I found myself standing closer to the screen for the sensors to register.

The wizarding adventure wraps up with a café offering themed treats and the iconic Butterbeer which I enjoyed though it’s on the sweeter side, plus a merch store for those looking to bring a piece of Harry Potter home. I snagged the Elder Wand for $70, no regrets though. I wished I had gotten more.

Although some tweaks could have made this experience one for the books, I thought it was an absolute must for Potterheads like me. This limited-time attraction is an opportunity for you to relive your childhood – don that dusty Hogwarts cloak and live your life as a wizard even for a day at the Wizarding World!
