4 Japanese Restaurants With Halal Premium Wagyu Beef In Kuala Lumpur (From RM24!)

Wagyu is one of the most expensive meats in the world and there's a reason why. Owners of the Japanese cows that give us wagyu beef carefully breed them with special condition to ensure their meat has the perfect fat marbling which gives wagyu that buttery taste!

It's quite hard to find halal Japanese restaurants in Malaysia to get the taste of wagyu but fortunately, there are some restaurants that offer halal-certified wagyu beef. Here are five restaurants located in Klang Valley that serve delicious wagyu beef ?

1. Wagyu Kokoro

Muslim-owned Wagyu Kokoro is one of a kind Japanese restaurant in Malaysia as it is halal-certified and no alcohol is served on the premise. This is the best place to enjoy premium cuts of wagyu beef with the perfect marbling. It's a yakiniku restaurant so expect to smell and eat freshly grilled BBQ beef on the spot. They offer both Japanese Miyazaki and Australian Wagyu Beef that cost from RM80-RM750. They also serve delicious Spicy Wagyu Ramen at only RM30.

2. Kampachi at EQ Kuala Lumpur

Kampachi is one of the most famous and extravagant Japanese restaurants in Klang Valley and it has a few outlets all over the city. The oldest establishment is in EQ Kuala Lumpur Hotel and for a limited time only (15-31 October 2021), they will be bringing the halal-certified Akaushi Wagyu Beef to its restaurant. According to their Instagram post, this is the first time Akaushi wagyu beef is in Malaysia and you don't wanna miss the chance to dine-in at the luxurious Kampachi to have a taste of this premium and high-quality beef. Its perfect fat marbling enhances the soft, buttery taste of the meat.

Do note that Kampachi at EQ Hotel is not halal-certified since they use mirin in rice and miso soup but otherwise their other ingredients are from halal-certified sources. However, please book in advance and request for a full halal dinner so the restaurant can make necessary adjustments.

3. Shin Nihon

Enjoy a trip to Tokyo with this popular Japanese charcoal grilled beef restaurant in KL. They serve only premium and halal beef cuts to their customers. Though the price range is on the expensive side with their 100g Wagyu Lean Cut Steak priced at RM125, but Shin Nihon is a great choice if you are craving for sweet and soft wagyu beef. It's also the perfect restaurant if you are celebrating special occasions!

4. Ken-Chan Curry

Ken-Chan Curry is the place to buy yourself affordable wagyu beef! Wagyu beef is highly expensive but for around RM44 per plate, you get to enjoy soft wagyu beef with their Double Signature Wagyu Beef Steak Omelette Curry Rice. Topped with their delicious curry, rice and omelette, this is a complete dish that will get you stuffed throughout the day! If you prefer something without an omelette, than you can try their Wagyu Beef Steak Rice Bowl for only RM24.
