If you’ve tried our halal Royce’ Nama Chocolate recipe and loved it, then this halal Royce’ Potato Chip Chocolate should definitely be your next treat! As one of Japan’s most popular souvenir items, these chocolate-covered chips give you the perfect sweet and salty flavour combination that is quite unlike any other. Using just 2 ingredients (yes, you read that right), you’re only a few simple steps away from making a batch of this addictive snack. So, let’s get to it and check this recipe out ?

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (4.5 oz) ridged potato chips - preferably Ruffles
  • 3 cups (24 oz) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place chopped chocolate in a bowl and microwave in 30 seconds increments, stirring between each time until everything is fully melted.
  3. Drop the potato chips into the melted chocolate and with two forks, flip the chips over so that they’re completely coated. Then lift them and let any excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place on the baking sheet and continue to do this step until you’ve used the whole bag of potato chips.
  4. Let the chips cool and dry at room temperature for about 2 hours until the chocolate becomes firm.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

  1. You can add toppings to your chocolate-covered chips to suit your personal taste such as sea salt, peanut butter, caramel, crushed nuts and sprinkles.
  2.  When coating the chips with chocolate, make sure to not layer it on too thick. Otherwise, your chip will break easily once it's dry.
  3. Store any leftover chips in an airtight container for up to 5 days either at room temperature or in the fridge. Avoid freezing them since the thawing process will result in soggy chips.

With this super easy halal Royce’ Potato Chip Chocolate recipe, you now have another delicious treat in your back pocket that you can pull out anytime you want to ?
