No. 87, Yanping S Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100
Generally this restaurant has an outstanding atmosphere, and provides a large variety of options and food choices for its customers. The food provided by this restaurant is excellent, and tastes really nice. The general atmosphere is very enjoyable, and the prices of food are very acceptable and adequate. The staff members of the restaurant are volunteers which are kind and caring, and have a magnificent attitude in serving customers. Overall "excellent, superb, outstanding", or "magnificent" cannot describe how good the restaurant is. I recommend this restaurant whole-heartedly without any reservation.
I would say that it is a quite authentic place When you enter there you are not really sure where you are, like, is it a garden, a little museum, a traditional restaurant where the prices are probably very high or it is a tea house? But it is all in one, except high price for the meal. A quiet place with vegetarian meals, nice price, tea. I would recommend to visit this restaurant. Also, they said that on Friday and Saturday (7-8pm) there is a performance (dance, music and other) but you need to book in advance if you want to enjoy the performance.
We had a little trouble finding the place until we identified the entrance of the Taipei Zhongshan Hall with the help of a friendly guard who walked with us for a while to show us the way. The restaurant is in the basement reachable by stairs or lift. The entrance has no air conditioning you have to walk in through the gallery first. There was a nice painting exhibition in the gallery. The atmosphere is lovely. Food is quite inexpensive considering the nice setting. We came on a day with no performance not sure if extra has to be paid to view performance. Food is decent.
Almost all the food here is vegan, with vegetarian food labelled accordingly. Quaint little underground bunker with a peaceful environment that has been in business for 10 years. Reservations are recommended, but we were lucky enough to get seats without one. Food wise, it was good but tasted more on the healthier/light side. You can tell they are natural and good for you. Price was worth it for the quality ingredients and upscale atmosphere.
This vegetarian restaurant is located in the basement, so you have to go down a flight of stairs from the entrance on the first floor. The restaurant is bright, spacious and quiet. The servers are friendly. You help yourself to tea from the tea station. They don’t charge a service fee. We have been back several times. We have tried a few different dishes. They are all good but we really like their curry and potato wedges/fries. The potatoes are crispy but not oily at all. They go perfectly with the curry. The dumplings have great texture and fresh skin. All the dishes we have tried are healthy, lightly seasoned and not greasy. The price is really quite reasonable and opens late.
